  • Patent number: 4989343
Abstract: The invention relates to a drying section which includes UV-light generating devices for drying a coloring substance applied to a material, for instance, colored print applied to print material and a silkscreen printer, and further comprising a conveyor for conveying the material passed one or more of the UV-light generating devices. The UV-light generating devices are cooled and a light and gas permeable grid is arranged between the material and each UV-light generating device. The grid has the form of three glass plates which define therebetween a plurality of apertures defined by recesses formed in the edge margins of respective glass plates.

  • Patent number: 4953459
Abstract: A method for use in multicolor silkscreen printing in which a plurality of printing stations are provided. A control unit is provided in which the position of the material is calculated in relation to a reference value, for example, the printing machine chassis. The position of the material is then determined along with a material feed position and a resultant measurement value is derived. The material is then moved to a second registration position in order to receive a further pattern thereon. After the second pattern has been applied, the print material is returned to the first registration position in order to reference the position of the pattern printed thereon at the second registration position. After a comparison of the first registration position and the second registration position, any established discrepancy between the actual position of the pattern during the transfer is then minimized with respect to subsequent printing operations.

  • Patent number: 4945829
Abstract: A method for correctly orienting print material in a silk screen printer includes determining the position of the print material relative to a reference position, storing that position, moving the print material to a printing position, printing a pattern on the print material, returning the print material to the previously determined position, and determining if a discrepancy exists between the desired position of the pattern and the actual position of the pattern on the print material. If a discrepancy exists between the desired and the actual position, one of a stencil frame, the print material, a printing table, and a first registered position is displaced for successive pieces of print material to minimize the discrepancy in successive actual pattern positions.

  • Patent number: 4907505
Abstract: A device for securing and/or registering the stencil frame for a screen printing machine, said screen printing machine having amongst other things a printing table and a scraper and/or ink application device arranged above the printing table. Between the printing table and the scraper arrangement are arranged one or more guides (6, 7) intended to interact with the stencil frame (5). These guides are designed in such a way that the stencil frame (5) is able to be moved or displaced as a single unit from an initial position outside the screen printing machine to an appropriate position inside the screen printing machine, and vice versa. Inside the screen printing machine are present registering devices (8, 9) intended to guide the stencil frame into a registration position. The elements intended to interact with the stencil frame comprise at least two guides (6, 7) running parallel to each other, along which the stencil frame (5) is capable of being displaced.

  • Patent number: 4903592
Abstract: A silkscreen printing system for multicolor printing by the application of separate colors in a predetermined order is provided in which a plurality of printing tables are positioned in the path travelled by the print material through the printer arrangement. Each of the print tables cooperates with the respective stencil which is intended to transfer to the print material a single color of the multicolor print. The system also includes a material transporting arrangement for advancing print material to a first of the plurality of print tables so that a first color is applied to the material by the stencil located above the first table. Subsequently, a second printing table receives the print material by the transport of the material transporting means so as to apply a second color print to the print material. The material transporting arrangement extends along all of the plurality of printing tables in the arrangement and is non-electrically conductive.

  • Patent number: 4903595
Abstract: Printing forms are produced by arranging in a magazine a plurality of printing frames, each including a stretch cloth and a light-sensitive coating. The printing frames are arranged in parallel relationship and parallel to an outlet slit of the magazine. The frames are advanced within the magazine toward the outlet slit in a first direction. The printing frames are sequentially passed through the outlet slit in a second direction disposed substantially perpendicular to the first direction. The frames pass through the slit while remaining parallel to printing frames disposed in the magazine. Movement of each printing frame traveling in the second direction is terminated when the printing frame occupies a position in front of an imaging apparatus. The imaging apparatus is actuated to expose the light sensitive coating to an image corresponding to a desired printing pattern.

  • Patent number: 4802410
Abstract: A silk screen printer includes a cylindrical printing table for applying print to a sheet material and a stencil which is stretched in a frame. The stencil is adapted for reciprocating movement in response to reciprocating movement of the printing table and a squeege arrangement is included for urging the stencil towards the printing table to thereby transfer print onto sheet material located between the printing table and the stencil. A gripping device is provided for gripping the forward end of the material. The gripping device is movable with the frame in the direction of the longitudinal extent of the frame. A spring device urges the gripping device towards a movement-damping member whereby the gripping member is registered in relation to the chassis of the printer. The registration of the gripping device relative to the chassis is independent of the stop position of the frame and the printing table.

  • Patent number: 4565478
Abstract: A sheet handling device for a printer, such as a silkscreen printed circuit card printer, includes a pick-up and hold device that translates between a register position on the printer and one or more stacks of cards. Adjustable limit switches on a transport track for the device determine the positions at which its movement is interrupted. Plural knobs on a controller for the device are each assigned to one of the operations of picking up or releasing a card, and is set to one of the positions of the limit switches. The controller senses the assigned operation and position setting of each knob in sequence, and carries out the card transport operations accordingly.

  • Patent number: 4516495
Abstract: Method and arrangement for positioning a second pattern (10a) originating from a first pattern formed on a stencil in relation to a material (8) intended for the pattern. Said second pattern (10a) is formed by causing a coating intended for the material to pass through the first pattern, for example by means of a scraper blade in a silk screen printing machine. The position of the second pattern (10a) relative to a reference point, usually the frame components of the printing machine, is stored in an organ. Once a sheet of material to which the second pattern (10a) is to be transferred has been moved into the printing position, the position of the material or of a pattern which has already been applied to it is evaluated together with any discrepancy which would arise if the second pattern (10a) were to be applied to that material in that position.
