  • Patent number: 5369869
Abstract: A door has a pair of spaced stiles at its side edges, a top rail extending between the upper ends of the rails, and a pair of synthetic resin skins providing the faces of the door and adhesively bonded to the stiles and rail. The skins have opposed flanges along their top and bottom edges which abut to form top and bottom peripheral walls, and they also have opposing spaced lips along the side edges thereof which extend along a portion of the outer surfaces of the stiles. The peripheral walls provided by the flanges have vent openings extending therethrough, and a cellular synthetic resin core is bonded to the skins and fills the interior space between the skins bounded by the stiles, rail and bottom flange. Baffled passages are provided between the vent openings and the interior space. In making She door, after the skins have been assembled and adhered to the stiles and rails, the stiles and flanges effectively seal the interior space which they define and this assembly is placed in a heated press.

  • Patent number: 5056263
Abstract: A door has horizontally extending channels in each face adjacent its bottom edge which rest an integrally formed bottom seal and sweep member. The seal member has a body portion with a horizontally disposed transverse wall extending along the bottom edge of the door, upstanding side walls extending along the faces of the door, and generally horizontally and inwardly extending flanges at their upper ends which extend into the door channels. The seal member also has a plurality of depending elements to seal the spacing between the door and threshold, and the channels and flanges have cooperating positioning elements thereon to secure the seal and sweep member in a fixed and predetermined position on the door.

  • Patent number: 4717106
Abstract: An L-shaped, integrally formed bracket of one-piece construction provides packaging for wrench sockets and like articles. It has a post that is dimensioned and configured to snugly seat within the recess of the mounted socket, and will generally include a member to spread parts of the post and force them into positive engagement with the inner surfaces of the socket recess. The bracket is suited not only for use to protect the packaged article against damage and pilferage at the point-of-sale, but also for purposes of ongoing storage by the consumer.

  • Patent number: 4450961
Abstract: An assembly for holding a socket driver, an extension, or a spinner includes an L-shaped bracket member which has means thereon for engaging either the head or the shank portion of the tool. The assembly also includes a slide locking member that is engaged with a support wall of the bracket, to trap another portion of the tool (the shank or a section of the handle) and thereby retain the tool in the assembly. The package is adapted for point of sale display to present the article to the customer in an attractive manner, while protecting it against physical damage and pilferage; the slide locking member is capable of removal without damage to the assembly, thereby permitting reuse for storage of the tool part by the purchaser.

  • Patent number: 4226152
Abstract: A saw guide subassembly for a mitre box includes a pair of saw guide elements with vertical guide means on their opposed surfaces. Slides are slidably seated on the saw guides and have bearing pads extending towards each other and guide means cooperating with those of the saw guide elements. Biasing means bias the slides upwardly but pressure exerted on the pads by the saw can move the slides downwardly to increase the depth of cut permitted. The cooperating guide means desirably comprise slots in the saw guide elements and web portions in the slides which are seated in the slots.
