Patent number: 8833585Abstract: A can end combination, a resealable beverage can, and a method of sealing a beverage can are disclosed. The can end combination may include a metal can end and a resealable closure coupled to the can end. The can end may include a center panel having an aperture formed therethrough. The closure may include a base plate and a top plate coupled to the base plate. The closure may have a sealed position in which the base plate contacts the center panel about the aperture to form at least one of a bore seal and a face seal. The closure may also have an intermediate position in which the base plate is proximate the aperture but the closure is devoid of the bore seal and the face seal. The closure may also have a fully open position in which the aperture is exposed to enable pouring liquid through the aperture.Type: GrantFiled: May 22, 2009Date of Patent: September 16, 2014Assignee: Crown Packaging Technology, Inc.Inventors: Christopher Paul Ramsey, Sylvia Maria Farrow, Florian Christian Gregory Combe, Graham Martin Gossedge, Philip Norman Horton, Andrew Jonathan Sant

Publication number: 20080277613Abstract: A valve for use as a fluid flow regulator having an inner part (20) and an outer part (10), which are moveable relative to one another. At least one of the inner or outer parts is connected to a source of fluid. One of the parts is fixed whilst the other is movable and the outer part has at least one orifice (16), through which fluid may be dispensed when the valve is “open”. The moveable part is free to rotate about its axis, but axial movement is prevented and when the valve is in its closed position, the inner part (20) and the outer part (10) are arranged relative to one or more sealing olives (40) to prevent fluid from flowing axially over the sealing olive (40) and out through the orifice (16). The sealing olive (40) may be arranged on either or both of the inner or outer parts.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 18, 2005Publication date: November 13, 2008Applicant: Roemerstrasse 83Inventors: Christopher Paul Ramsey, Antonio Gonzalez, Bernard Guglielmini, Sylvia Maria Farrow
