  • Patent number: 9497730
Abstract: There is described a multiple subscriber identity arrangement comprising a modem (10) and a control unit (13) associated with said modem. The modem is capable of receiving and/or transmitting messages related to either one of at least first and second subscriber identities, but not simultaneously. The control unit is configured to, when communication activity associated with the first subscriber identity is being performed (S1) by the modem, cause the modem to send (S3) an indication to a network associated with the first subscriber identity requesting compressed mode. The control unit is further configured to monitor the signalling associated with the second subscriber identity during a compressed mode gap associated with the first subscriber identity.

  • Patent number: 9215753
Abstract: There is described a multiple subscriber identity arrangement having a modem capable of receiving messages related to either one of at least two subscriber identities, but not simultaneously. The arrangement further comprises a control unit configured to, when the modem performs communication activity associated with a first subscriber identity: determine whether gaps not allocated for the communication activity associated with the first subscriber identity coincide with paging occasions associated with a second subscriber identity; and, if at least one gap not allocated for the communication activity associated with the first subscriber identity coincides with at least one paging occasion associated with the second subscriber identity, cause the modem to switch to the second subscriber identity to read one paging message on a paging channel associated with the second subscriber identity.

  • Patent number: 9100888
Abstract: A Multi Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) modem capable of receiving paging messages related to at least two subscriber identities comprises a paging configuration block configured to determine whether a collision between paging occasions related to the respective subscriber identities will be systematic or not, and to launch, when the collision has been determined to be systematic, a reselection of a new cell for at least one of the at least two subscriber identities.

  • Patent number: 8913743
Abstract: Method for decrypting, within a wireless communication device, a sequence of encrypted packets received via a wireless communication channel between the communication device and a cell assigned to this device, comprising for each packet the following steps: —the computation of an encrypting sequence corresponding to the packet (21); and —the decrypting of the packet with the aid of the said encrypting sequence (22). In this method, the encrypting sequences are computed before the reception of the packets while the reception quality is above a threshold (20, TH) and an indication of change of cell is not received (24).

  • Patent number: 8914035
Abstract: Multiple subscriber identity modem (10) capable of receiving messages related to at least two subscriber identities, characterized in that it comprises a delaying module (19) configured to: —determine, from a connection request for a service associated with a first subscriber identity, whether the service belongs to a first class of communication, and, when the service has been determined as belonging to the first class of communication, —determine whether a remaining time between the connection request and a next paging occasion, associated with a second subscriber identity, is falling on a first side of a threshold, and, when the remaining time has been determined as falling on the first side of the threshold, —delay an access grant indication related to the connection request until the paging occasion has been handled.

  • Patent number: 8447300
Abstract: Method for selecting a cell from a network when a wireless communications device is turned on, following a previous power down, comprising a process for obtaining (12) the current country code (CC) corresponding to the current location where the device is situated when it is switched on and, if the current country (CC) is different from the current country code (LCC) corresponding to the place where the device was located during the said previous power down, a search (14) for the possible presence of at least one set of parameters, stored in the device, associated with the said current country code and relating to a cellular environment having already allowed a network access, and, in the eventuality of such a presence, a selection (16) of the said cell using the set or sets of parameters as a first priority.

  • Publication number: 20120243413
Abstract: The invention relates to the management of priority levels for data packets in a stream. In particular, the size of a data packet is determined for use in determining a priority level for said packet. Then the priority level for the data packet is determined based on the size of the data packet and the data packet is placed in a queue among a plurality of queues based on the priority level of the data packet, each queue being associated with a priority level.
