  • Patent number: 7623592
Abstract: Disclosed is a transmission method wherein n antennae emit each symbol with a spread spectrum code, where the codes are the same for n antennae at each transmission considered from k transmissions, k is an even number and the symbols are coded according to k successive codes corresponding to k transmissions. The k codes provide k/2 pairs of codes which verify, in each pair, the relationship in which a pair code is time-inverted and combined in relation to the other code of the pair, and is optionally multiplied by a module 1 complex constant.

Abstract: The invention relates to a transmission method wherein n antennae emit each symbol with a spread spectrum code, said codes being the same for n antennae at each transmission considered from k transmissions, where k is an even number, and the symbols are coded according to k successive codes corresponding to k transmissions, said k codes comprising k/2 pairs of codes which verify, in each pair, the properties according to which a pair code is time-inverted and combined in relation to the other code of the pair and optionally multiplied by a module 1 complex constant.

  • Patent number: 6118832
Abstract: A method enabling a multiple sensor equalization in a radioelectrical receiver including a specified number of reception antennas, the method including the steps of estimating the transmission channel on each of the antennas; estimating the background noise component plus interference on each of the antennas on the basis of the estimation of the transmission channel; estimating the spatial correlation matrix referenced R.sub.b of the background noise component plus interferences from the received signal; computing a spatial-temporal filter formed for each discrete temporal element of the estimated multiple-sensor channel of a spatial filter; achieving a temporal filtering of the data elements on the different sensors by the spatial-temporal filter; and equalizing the signal at output of the spatial-temporal filter by one-dimensional equalization at a symbol rate deciding the symbols transmitted.

  • Patent number: 6021334
Abstract: According to this method for transmitting a digital signal by a base station equipped with a multi-element antenna to a mobile, in the presence of interference sources and background noise, at least one frequency transposition operator is calculated which approximately transforms one reception calibration table into one transmission or reception calibration table; statistical data are calculated on the basis of the signals received by the various elements, originating from the mobile and the interference sources; for this mobile, an optimum set of spatial weightings is calculated on the basis of the statistical data, the frequency transposition operator, and a criterion for reinforcing the useful signal and reducing the interference sources; the digital signal is weighted on the basis of the optimum set of weightings, then it is transmitted.

  • Patent number: 5990832
Abstract: This antenna array for base station for radiocommunication with mobiles comprises N first sensors, N being an integer greater than 2, arranged in such a way that the array exhibits substantially no ambiguity; an (N+1).sup.th sensor placed or contrived in such a way as to receive signals which are decorrelated from the previous ones; and a module for processing the signals received, making it possible to locate, in an explicit or implicit manner, a transmitting mobile from the signals received by the N sensors alone, and to combine these signals and the signals received by the (N+1).sup.th sensor so as to improve reception by effecting spatial or spatio-temporal diversity.
