    Abstract: The buckle of the present invention is a buckle, of which engagement claw can be engaged with a serrate engagement groove of a band. The buckle includes: a buckle main body composed of a base plate and a roof frame, and two side plates connecting the base plate and the roof frame; and an operation piece being installed inside the roof frame, and having the engagement claw that can be engaged with the engagement groove of the band. The operation piece is movably supported by a connecting shaft connecting the two side plates in an intermediate point. The buckle main body is provided with a control piece for controlling a swing of the operation piece. The engagement claw is engaged with the engagement groove of the band, and the control piece functions as a spring for biasing the engagement claw toward the engagement groove side in such a locked state.

The buckle is fixed to the backside of the bottom. When the band approaches the buckle, the periphery of the bottom shrinks while, when the band moves away from the buckle, the periphery of the bottom expands.

A front air hole 13 is provided in a visor portion 12 in front of a hat body 10 in a horizontal direction, the visor portion 12 is defined by a streamlined curvature so that an ambient air can be brought in smoothly, and an eave portion 15 of the hat body 10 covers a top end 12a of the visor portion 12 from the outside without contacting the same to form the front air hole 13. An air hole 17 is also provided at a back of a peak portion of the hat body 10. The front air hole 13 mainly functions as an inlet for the ambient air, and the rear air hole 17 functions as an outlet for the air introduced into and staying inside the hat body 10.

The band is movable forward but not movable backward relative to the other under the condition that the engaging projection part is locked to the engaging recessed part. A pair of hook parts capable of pulling both end parts by fingers of one hand is installed on both end parts. A buckle connected to the band includes a buckle main body having a bottom plate, a roof frame, and side plates for connecting the bottom plate to the roof frame. An operating plate is installed horizontally inside the roof frame, and has an engaging claw engageable with the band engaging grooves and a pressing part. The buckle and the band is made simple, and easily attached together.
