  • Patent number: 7456992
Abstract: A digital multifunctional device 1 comprises a control panel 20 with a LCD panel 20 for manipulating various settings, an auxiliary memory 7b for temporarily storing the image data to be processed, an image data destruction means for destructing the image data stored in the auxiliary memory 7b, and an operation restriction means for restricting the image data processing operation. When the digital multifunctional device 1 is to be replaced or discarded, the image data destruction means destructs the image data stored in the auxiliary memory 7b. When the stored image data is destructed by the image data destruction means, the operation restriction means restricts the subsequent image data processing operation and notifies the completion of destruction to a specified administrator.

  • Publication number: 20070024886
Abstract: An image processing device determines, based on an IP address received from an external device, whether any processing according to information received from the external device should be performed or not. A path of communication with the external device is examined from a network address. When the external device that is a transmission source of information is an external device outside a predetermined range, specifically, for example, when the external device is an external device connected to a communication network that is further external to the communication network connected to the image processing device, the image processing device inhibits any processing that follows an image data processing command received from the external device. The image processing device also inhibits any processing that follows a command of adjusting the image processing device which command is received from outside the predetermined range.

  • Publication number: 20070025589
Abstract: An image processing apparatus, such as a digital multiple function processing machine, capable of preventing degradation of security, while storing image data after an output process based on the image data so as to improve convenience. The image processing apparatus selects one of image data concealment methods stored in a first storage part (step S203); conceals image data by use of the selected concealment method (authentication information setting step S207 or encryption step S212); and nullifies unconcealed image data.

  • Publication number: 20060253536
Abstract: Among unique addresses that are receiving ends of data, such as e-mail addresses, a partial address that is in common with a plurality of addresses is registered in a storing unit. For example, of an e-mail address containing a user name and a domain, the domain is used as the partial address. Thus, a data transmitting apparatus, such as an Internet facsimile apparatus, restricts data transmission for image data and the like only to addresses containing the partial address registered in the storing unit. In other words, data is transmitted only to addresses that have the same domain.

  • Publication number: 20060245004
Abstract: It is an object to provide an image processing system, an information processing apparatus and a computer program, capable of utilizing a data protection function possessed by the image processing apparatus. The information processing apparatus connected to a communication network together with one or more image processing apparatuses acquires from each of the image processing apparatuses a protection function information which indicates whether or not an image processing apparatus has a data protection function for protecting data by encrypting or the like, and intensity information representing an intensity of data protection of the data protection function. The information processing apparatus outputs a list of the image processing apparatuses together with a key mark and security level representing the intensity of data protection in numeral about each image processing apparatus having the data protection function so as to accept selection of the image processing apparatus by which an image is processed.

  • Publication number: 20060176501
Abstract: When an address is inputted through input means for inputting an address of a receiving end, an image transmission apparatus carries out an authentication process that determines whether or not the inputting person is a right authorized person. When it is determined that the corresponding operation is right through the authentication process, the image transmission apparatus transmits image data to the address of the receiving end thus inputted.

  • Publication number: 20060061820
Abstract: When an image processing apparatus receives an execution instruction for image processing, it performs management of information related to image processing and image data that is subjected to image processing, as historical data. When the execution instruction for the image processing is received from a user, the image processing apparatus stores image data read from a document or image data received from outside, and then stores process information related to the image processing based on the received execution instruction and the stored image data, as historical data. The image processing apparatus then performs image processing of the image data that is stored in accordance with the received execution instruction.

  • Publication number: 20050086516
Abstract: A data processing apparatus receives data by, for example, reading an image with an image reading unit, stores the received data in a temporary storage unit, judges whether or not the received data is data satisfying a condition including predetermined characteristics, such as paper money or securities, by a judgment unit, and erases the data after processing it if the data does not satisfy the predetermined condition. If the data satisfies the predetermined condition, the data processing apparatus restricts the processing of the data, and retains the data in an archive unit without erasing it.
