Patent number: 7194925Abstract: A shock absorbing device 8 includes a transmitting section 81, first friction plates 82, second friction plates 83, and a dish spring 84. The transmitting section 81 is engaged with the inner cylindrical portion of the second friction plates 83 and also engaged with an outer cylindrical surface of an internal gear 42. The first friction plates 82 are stationarily fixed to an end portion 102a of a central housing. The second friction plates 83 are brought into frictional engagement with the first friction plates 82 under a resilient force applied from the dish spring 84. The first friction plates 82 and the second friction plates 83 are alternately laminated.Type: GrantFiled: July 22, 2003Date of Patent: March 27, 2007Assignees: Denso Corporation, Sawafuji Electric Co., Ltd.Inventors: Sadayoshi Kajino, Kei Shibayama, Syuichi Aoki

Patent number: 7040184Abstract: A starter capable of preventing the slippage of a clutch at engine starting and of transmitting a higher torque. In the starter, a power transmission device is integrated with a carrier for supporting a planetary gear of a reduction assembly and an output shaft is helical-spline-coupled to the power transmission device. A pinion shaft is fitted over an outer circumference of the output shaft through a first bearing and second bearing and a one-way clutch is provided for transmitting the rotation of the output signal to the pinion shaft. The first bearing is made such that its tip portion protrudes toward the pinion side with respect to a tip portion of a housing bearing in an engaging state of the pinion with a ring gear and, hence, at cranking, the first and second bearings receive a load from the ring gear to the pinion.Type: GrantFiled: July 28, 2003Date of Patent: May 9, 2006Assignees: Denso Corporation, Sawafuji Electric Co., Ltd.Inventors: Sadayoshi Kajino, Youichi Hasegawa, Syuichi Aoki

Patent number: 6914504Abstract: An electromagnetic switch has at least one pair of projection and groove engageable with each other and extending in an axial direction on an outer cylindrical surface of a solenoid casing and on an inner cylindrical surface of a switch casing. Engagement of the projection and the groove guides the solenoid casing shifting in the axial direction when inserted inside the switch casing.Type: GrantFiled: August 4, 2003Date of Patent: July 5, 2005Assignees: Denso Corporation, Sawafuji Electric Co., Ltd.Inventors: Sadayoshi Kajino, Youichi Hasegawa, Syuichi Aoki, Hiroyasu Omiyama

Patent number: 6776273Abstract: A starter having a one-way clutch connects with an output shaft via helical spline. A braking member is provided in a bearing portion of a center case adjacent to an end of the center case away from the motor. The clutch moves toward the rear via a lever when the starter is stopped, and a flange portion, provided at a rear end of a barrel portion, presses against the braking member. As a result, the rotation of the clutch stops within a short time period.Type: GrantFiled: December 27, 2002Date of Patent: August 17, 2004Assignees: Denso Corporation, Sawafuji Electric Co., Ltd.Inventors: Sadayoshi Kajino, Youichi Hasegawa, Hiroyasu Omiyama, Syuichi Aoki
