  • Publication number: 20070098429
Abstract: The image forming device is capable of stapling up to a predetermined maximum number of sheets, and includes a control unit, an image forming unit, and a stapling unit. The control unit is capable of generating output data for image information for which the number of sheets exceeds the maximum number by carrying out image processing including N in 1 reduction processing (where N is a natural number equal to or greater than 1). The image forming unit outputs the output data obtained from the control unit onto sheets. The staple unit staples the sheets onto which the output data has been output.

  • Patent number: 6115150
Abstract: An image data processing apparatus is provided which is adapted to perform an image processing process suitable for each of a plurality of image modes on the basis of an output gradation reference curve and computation data. Output image data are generated by processing inputted image data on the basis of an output gradation curve which is prepared for each image mode on the basis of an output gradation reference curve and computation data. Therefore, output gradation curves for respective image modes need not preliminarily be stored in storage means. For example, if two output gradation reference curves and 16 computation data are preliminarily stored in the storage means, the inputted image data can be subjected to a process corresponding to any of 32 image modes by using an output gradation reference curve and a computation data in combination.

  • Patent number: 5802216
Abstract: An apparatus and a method for contrast adjustment are provided which require a reduced amount of information for the contrast adjustment. A preliminary adjustment factor is first calculated on the basis of a contrast adjustment factor, and then input image data is processed on the basis of these two adjustment factors to provide contrast-adjusted image data. For example, the inclination of a contrast adjustment line is defined by the contrast adjustment factor, and a shift amount (intercept) of the contrast adjustment line is defined by the preliminary adjustment factor which is properly determined in correspondence with the contrast adjustment factor. Thus, not only the contrast of an image but also the density of the overall image can be properly adjusted simply by specifying a single adjustment factor.

  • Patent number: 5801845
Abstract: Disclosed is an image data processor for processing input image data representing the gray level of each of pixels constituting an image to produce output image data representing the gray level of each of pixels constituting an output image. The relative position of the pixel corresponding to the input image data in a group of pixels including a predetermined number of pixels is identified. The input image data is subjected to data processing corresponding to the relative position of the pixel in the group of pixels on the basis of the result of the identification. Consequently, gray levels are represented by the entire group of pixels.

  • Patent number: 5796491
Abstract: A color image-forming machine 08/715 000 includes a color image signal-forming device for outputting digital signals Cd, Md and Yd expressing, on tone levels, the three primary colors C, M and Y for a number of pixels, and a masking device for correcting the digital signals Cd, Md and Yd in compliance with masking operation expressions. A color region discrimination device is provided to discriminate, based on the digital signals Cd, Md and Yd, to which one of a plurality of predetermined color regions each of a number of pixels belong. The masking device corrects the digital signals Cd, Md and Yd by selecting different masking operation expressions depending upon each of the plurality of color regions.

  • Patent number: 5790282
Abstract: An apparatus and method for color image adjustment which ensure proper saturation adjustment by a simple process. Color image data for three primary colors are adjusted so that the sum of the color image data for the three primary colors is kept unchanged before and after the adjustment. Thus, the saturation adjustment can be achieved without a change in the brightness of an image.

  • Patent number: 5754683
Abstract: In a gradation output adjusting method according to the present invention, a gradation correcting section 64 corrects a gradation value of input data in accordance with a predetermined gradation correcting curve and applies the data after the correction to a printer output section 66. In preparing a gradation correcting curve, test data for forming a gradation scale is inputted to the printer output section 66 from a CPU 70. An image corresponding to the test data is read by a scanner section 1. A proper gradation value to be applied to the printer output section 66 is found with respect to some gradation values of the input data on the basis of the result of the reading. A pre-gradation correcting curve is prepared on the basis of the proper gradation value. The pre-gradation correcting curve and a plurality of types of curve patterns previously stored in a ROM 72 are matched. A curve pattern which is best matched to the pre-gradation correcting curve is set as a detailed gradation correcting curve.
