Abstract: A store management system includes electronic shelf labels each displaying item information indicating one of items sold in a store, a shelf label server communicating with the labels and store the item information displayed by each label in association with a corresponding shelf label location information indicating a location of said each label in the store, and a store server storing, in a memory, item location information for each item that indicates a location of said item in the store in association with an item code, retrieve, from a database, item information for each item using the code, and for each item, transmit the item information along with the item location information thereof to the label server. The label server transmits each item information to a selected label for display thereby. The selected label is located at or nearest to the location indicated by the item location information.

Abstract: A settlement device determines whether or not the device performs a settlement process of accounting data in preference to another settlement device having a precedent transmission order, on the basis of predetermined determination conditions. When the transmission order which is set in the device is not final, identification information of the device is transferred together with accounting data when it is determined that the device preferentially performs the settlement process, and identification information of the another settlement device having a precedent transmission order is transferred together with accounting data when it is determined that the another settlement device preferentially performs the settlement process.

Abstract: A payment apparatus is provided for use in a check-out system comprising a registration apparatus, a plurality of the payment apparatuses, and a server. An input device receives input of a user identification corresponding to a customer who performs a transaction. The payment apparatus receives, from the registration apparatus, payment information indicating a total amount to be paid for the transaction. The payment apparatus also receives, from one of the registration apparatus and the server, payment method information indicating a payment method corresponding to the customer who performs the transaction, based on the user identification. The payment apparatus processes payment with respect to the received payment information in accordance with the payment method indicated in the payment method information.

Abstract: A registration apparatus transmits, to any of a plurality of settlement apparatuses, accounting data and a list indicating an order in which the accounting data is to be sent to the plurality of settlement apparatuses. The settlement apparatus determines whether or not settlement of a transaction is possible, when the accounting data and the list are received. The settlement apparatus transmits a permission response to the registration apparatus, if settlement of the transaction is possible. The settlement apparatus transfers the accounting data and the list to another settlement apparatus, according to the list, if settlement of the transaction is not possible.
