  • Patent number: 11557759
Abstract: A nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery using a silicon compound as a negative electrode active material, suppress deformation of a negative electrode. An embodiment includes a winding type electrode body in which a positive electrode and a negative electrode are spirally wound with at least one separator interposed therebetween. In a negative electrode mixture layer, a silicon compound is contained as a negative electrode active material. A winding-start side end of the negative electrode mixture layer extends to a winding-start end side of the electrode body past a winding-start side end of a positive electrode mixture layer. A length Y (mm) of a portion of the negative electrode mixture layer extending from the winding-start side end of the positive electrode mixture layer and a rate X (percent by mass) of the silicon compound with respect to the total mass of the negative electrode active material satisfy a relationship of Y?3X?15 (6?X?15).

  • Publication number: 20220399575
Abstract: The purpose of the present disclosure is to provide a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery that can suppress reductions in rapid charge cycle characteristics. The non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery according to one embodiment of the present disclosure has a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a non-aqueous electrolyte. The negative electrode has a negative electrode collector and a negative electrode active material layer that is provided on the negative electrode collector. The negative electrode active material layer includes graphite particles A and graphite particles B as negative electrode active materials. The internal porosity of graphite particles A is no more than 5%, and the internal porosity of graphite particles B is 8%-20%. When the negative electrode active material layer is bisected in the thickness direction, there is a greater amount of graphite particles A in the outer surface-side half than in the negative electrode collector-side half.

  • Publication number: 20220131131
Abstract: The purpose of the present disclosure is to provide a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery having excellent low-temperature properties. A non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery according to an aspect of the present disclosure comprises a negative electrode having: a negative electrode current collector; and a negative electrode active material layer disposed on the negative electrode current collector, wherein the negative electrode active material layer contains graphite particles A and graphite particles B as a negative electrode active material. The internal porosity of graphite particles A is 8-20%, and the internal porosity of graphite particles B is 5% or less. When the negative electrode active material layer is bisected in the thickness direction into a negative electrode current collector-side first half region and an outer surface-side second half region, the amount of graphite particles A in the second half region is greater than in the first half region.
