    Abstract: An authentication system and method thereof for integrating heterogeneous network is provided. The authentication system triggers the heterogeneous network router when an external terminal device is located in a service covering range of the heterogeneous network router and the wireless router, and the authentication server is triggered to authenticate the terminal device when the terminal device has a heterogeneous network integration access condition, and after the authentication server finishes the authentication of the terminal device, the terminal device is ordered by the heterogeneous network router to communicate with the heterogeneous network router and the wireless router in the same time so as to perform the splitting operation of the telecommunication traffic. By the aforementioned operations, the system can provide the terminal device to access the mobile network and the wireless network in the same time, and promote the communication quality significantly.

The system includes one or multiple wireless router, a mobile network core system, and a heterogeneous network router. When an external terminal device is located in a service covering range of the heterogeneous network router and the wireless router and the terminal device has a heterogeneous network integrating access condition, then the heterogeneous network router enables the terminal device to communicate with heterogeneous network router and the wireless router in the same time. The system further assigns a downlink traffic splitting ration to the terminal device according to individual communication status of the wireless router and the heterogeneous network router so as to provide a better communication quality.

The device and method are applied in a communication environment overlapped by a mobile network covering range and a wireless network covering range and using the mobile network and wireless network to transmit downlink traffic. The heterogeneous network terminal enables the mobile network air interface and wireless network air interface at the same time when transmitting the downlink traffic and requests the mobile network end to transmit by the mobile network and wireless network at the same time. The mobile network end assigns the downlink traffic of the heterogeneous network integration terminal to the mobile network and the wireless network. This uses the bandwidth feature of mobile network and wireless network to promote transmission rate of downlink traffic and shorten user waiting time.
