  • Patent number: 10937251
Abstract: The present invention is directed towards an electronic ticket suitable for providing entry to an event. The electronic ticket is capable of being stored, in electronic format, on a mobile user device. The electronic ticket comprises a dynamic entry code for the event such that the dynamic entry code is transitionable from an inoperable state to a functional state, whereby entry to the event is only possible when the dynamic entry code has been transitioned to the functional state. The dynamic entry code is a visual code which is non-readable by humans and is stored in a memory of the mobile user device, such that the inoperable state of the dynamic entry code prohibits the visual code from being displayed by the mobile user device and the functional state of the dynamic entry code permits the visual code to be displayed by the mobile user.

  • Patent number: 9189791
Abstract: A server of an operator of a resource is provided that includes a processor configured for operating a service provider application, which is configured for receiving one or more advertisements that are directed to one or more advertised products or services, and are received from one or more advertising merchants. The service provider application is also configured for receiving an indication of a mobile terminal attempting to access the resource of the operator, and for pushing one or more of the received advertisements from the operator to the mobile terminal in response thereto. The advertisement(s) having been pushed to the mobile terminal for consumption thereat, the service provider application is further configured for providing a user of the mobile terminal with a discount in a cost associated with the mobile terminal accessing the resource of the operator in response to at least a partial consumption of the advertisement(s).

  • Publication number: 20080119168
Abstract: A mobile terminal is provided that includes one or more resources configured for consuming an advertisement. In addition, the mobile terminal includes a processor configured for operating a client application that is configured for receiving an advertisement and directing the one or more resources to consume the advertisement. In response to consumption of the advertisement, the client application may receive a representation of a first benefit at the mobile terminal. The client application is also configured for forwarding the advertisement to another, destination mobile terminal for consumption thereat. In this regard forwarding the advertisement may include forwarding a representation of a second benefit. The representations are configured for a user of the mobile terminal to realize the first and second benefits.

  • Publication number: 20080046320
Abstract: Systems, apparatuses and methods for identifying company content and facilitating advertising in response. The company or other entity can provide reference media to devices, which is stored at the device(s). Media occurring within a vicinity of the device is recorded by the device. The recorded media is compared to the reference media to identify any matching media, and information pertaining to matching occurrences of the recorded media and the reference media is transmitted. A designated server system or local system provides a company database that can receive the information, and in response may provide links for association with the device-recorded media. In this manner, the devices gather media and ultimately obtain links to the company(s) associated with the recorded media.

  • Publication number: 20060178110
Abstract: A system for interacting with a physical entity includes a user-wearable terminal and a mobile station. The user-wearable terminal is capable of automatically receiving a selection of a physical entity as at least a portion of a user wearing the terminal moves into proximity with the entity thereby moving the terminal into proximity with the entity. The terminal includes a first short-range communication element for receiving information from the entity at least partially over an air interface. In addition, the terminal includes a second short-range communication element for transferring input data to the mobile station at least partially over an air interface, where the input data is based upon the information related to the entity. The mobile station, upon receiving the input data, is capable of performing at least one action based upon the input data.

  • Publication number: 20050135286
Abstract: A wireless proximity network is extended to provide peer-to peer communication among ad hoc networks. A mobile device (peer) coupled to an access point serves an adhoc network via a short-range communication link. The peer executes a Bluetooth protocol stack. Each peer has a routing table about all the peers in the adhoc network. A peer to peer software layer (P2P) runs on top of the Bluetooth protocol stack and beneath a multi-user application layer. The P2P software handles application deployment, peer management and communications for applications and provides information about existing peers on the adhoc network; routes messages between peers within an ad hoc network and from one peer to another in different adhoc networks. The access point is connected to a wireless LAN via a wireless router. The access point has an IP-BT address conversion table and communicates with other access points via wireless routers using TCP/IP protocols.
