  • Publication number: 20110037889
Abstract: A method for determining whether an auto-focus operation is re-executed and an image pickup device using such a method are provided. The image pickup device includes an image sensor, a register and a back-end chip. According to the automatic exposure value change amount and the automatic gain value change amount in a focusing environment, the back-end chip determines whether the auto-focus operation is re-executed.

  • Patent number: 7826678
Abstract: The invention discloses an adaptive image sharpening method for generating a sharpened image area corresponding to an original image area. The original image area includes a plurality of original pixel values. The method includes blurring the original image area to generate a plurality of blurred pixel values corresponding to the plurality of original pixel values respectively, calculating a plurality of characteristic values corresponding to the plurality of original pixel values respectively, statistically analyzing the plurality of characteristic values to generate a plurality of weighting values corresponding to the plurality of original pixel values respectively, and generating a plurality of sharpened pixel values according to the plurality of original pixel values, the plurality of blurred pixel values, and the plurality of weighting values. The plurality of sharpened pixel values constitutes the sharpened image area.

  • Publication number: 20100080543
Abstract: A portable camera device includes a first casing, a second casing and an extendable mechanism. The second casing contains a lens module and has a lower part connected to a first connecting position of the first casing such that the lens module is arranged above the first casing. The extendable mechanism has a rear end with a document holding structure for holding a document and a front end connected to a second connecting position of the first casing via a first pivotal mechanism. The extendable mechanism is selectively folded or unfolded with respect to the first casing when the extendable mechanism is rotated in various directions by adjusting the first pivotal mechanism. A relative spatial correlation between the lens module and the document is adjusted such that the lens module is focused on a selected area of the document for capturing an image of the document.

  • Publication number: 20100074547
Abstract: A focus-quality judging method includes the following steps. Firstly, a comparing object including a target area is provided. A reference image pickup device is provided to shoot the comparing object to obtain a standard image including a standard target area image. Then, a first pixel number contained in the standard target area image is counted. The comparing object is shot by a test image pickup device to obtain a test image including a test target area image, wherein the test image has the same resolution as the standard image. Then, a second pixel number contained in the test target area image is counted. The first pixel number contained in the standard target area image is compared with the second pixel number contained in the test target area image. According to the comparing results, it is discriminated whether the test image pickup device performs an accurate focusing operation.

  • Publication number: 20070040763
Abstract: An image display system for simultaneously displaying an original image and a processed image of the original image is provided. The image display system includes a display screen, a first memory unit, a second memory unit and a control unit. In response to some specified commands, the original image and the processed image may be simultaneously magnified and moved and some specific pixel data thereof are simultaneously shown. Since the user is able to view the difference between the original image and the processed image in real time, the image display system of the present invention is user-friendly and efficient.
