    Abstract: An optical fiber module includes: an optical transmission line having an optical fiber, a coating enclosing the optical fiber and a buffer layer enclosing the coating, apart of the optical fiber being exposed to outer side of a free end of the optical transmission line; and a fiber stub structure including a sleeve and a retainer section integrally forward extending from the sleeve as an integrated structure. The sleeve has a central hole for accommodating the optical transmission line. The retainer section has an inclined hole for accommodating a part of the optical fiber to make the direction of emergence of the light coaxial with the direction of incidence of the light of the light-emitting element. The fiber stub structure is an integrated structure, whereby the signal loss of incident light is reduced and the manufacturing cost is greatly lowered.

    Abstract: A receptacle structure for optical sub-assembly for transceivers includes a receiving tube; an optical fiber; an optical fiber retainer member having an interface section and an inclined head integrally connected with the interface section, the interface section being mounted in the receiving tube with the inclined head protruding out of the receiving tube, the inclined head defining an inclined hole for receiving a front end section of the optical fiber, whereby the optical signals can be mass-accumulated and coupled to the optical fiber; a sleeve mounted in the receiving tube and the optical fiber retainer member, the sleeve being formed with an internal through hole for receiving a front end section of an optical fiber module; and a fiber stub mounted in the optical fiber retainer member and the sleeve. The fiber stub has a passageway for receiving a rear end section of the optical fiber.

    Abstract: An external power-saving USB mass storage device has a USB interface, a USB controller, an interface unit, a device controller and a memory unit. The USB controller has a sleep mode determination process embedded therein for predicting when a USB host plugged in by the USB mass storage device will not access the memory unit of the USB mass storage device for a prolonged time, and activates a sleep mode of the device controller through the interface unit so as to instruct the device controller and the memory unit to enter a power-down state for power-saving purpose.
