Patent number: 10414201Abstract: A pressure regulating device for a writing tool has a deformable member. Minor air pressure variations in a pen tube of the writing tool can be regulated by deformation of the deformable member. Major air pressure variations in the pen tube can also be regulated by movement of the pressure regulating device. Thus, the pen tube of the writing tool can avoid internal air pressure imbalance caused by external high temperature or low air pressure. Before the writing tool is shipped from a manufacturer, the deformable member is pressurized in advance, such that the minor air pressure variation formed when a pen cap caps the writing tool offsets the air pressure pre-applied to the deformable member. Accordingly, ink inside an internal chamber does not spout out upon removal of the pen cap and the ink will not be overly dispensed or leak during writing.Type: GrantFiled: April 13, 2018Date of Patent: September 17, 2019Assignee: SDI CORPORATIONInventor: Szu-Yu Chen

Patent number: 9969207Abstract: A reciprocating pencil sharpener has a shavings receptacle, a stationary member, a cutter and a ratchet mechanism. The cutter includes a blade secured to a blade holder. The ratchet mechanism is mounted between the stationary member and the cutter and allows the cutter to rotate relative to the stationary member in one direction only. When a user desires to sharpen a pencil, the user can keep the pencil in the hand and rotate the pencil in reciprocating rotation, thus obtaining the sharpened point of the pencil. Consequently, it is convenient for the user to apply a rotational force and a high efficiency of sharpening operation is achieved.Type: GrantFiled: November 17, 2015Date of Patent: May 15, 2018Assignee: SDI CORPORATIONInventor: Szu-Yu Chen

Patent number: 9851545Abstract: The present invention discloses a method for non-fluorescence higher harmonic generation ground state depletion super-resolution microscopy, it includes the following steps: providing an organic material unit, focusing excitation light and ground state depletion light, generating a higher harmonic signal, performing ground state depletion and performing microscopic imaging. With the implementation of the present invention, the stimulated electrons of the organic material remains majorly on the singlet (S1) state or the triplet (T1) state, instead of the ground (S0) state, to provide modulation of the spatial distribution of the non-fluorescence signal, and make STED microscopy applicable to non-fluorescence signals to promote the resolution of the images.Type: GrantFiled: September 8, 2015Date of Patent: December 26, 2017Assignee: NATIONAL CENTRAL UNIVERSITYInventors: Szu-Yu Chen, Jui-Fen Chang, Chao-Yi Tai, Hao-Hao Wu

Patent number: 9795340Abstract: This invention relates to a vacuum-pump sucker for high-resolution microscopy comprising a sucker body and a transparent plate. The vacuum-pump sucker is designed as a stabilizer for sample stabilization in a clinical optical virtual biopsy system with sub-micron resolution. The sucker is connected with a vacuum pump. As the vacuum pump pumps out air or gas, tissues around the imaged area will be sucked by the sucker and the distance between objective lens and the imaged tissue can be stabilized. In this way, the stability and resolution of the clinical biopsy system can be greatly improved.Type: GrantFiled: December 13, 2010Date of Patent: October 24, 2017Assignee: NATIONAL TAIWAN UNIVERSITYInventors: Chi-Kuang Sun, Szu-Yu Chen

Patent number: 9694624Abstract: An automatic cover-opening device has a body, at least one cover panel and a recoil mechanism. The body has an insertion hole defined in the body. The at least one cover panel is mounted on the body and moveably closes the insertion hole. Each one of the at least one cover panel has a guiding segment having at least one guiding edge inclined relative to an axis of the insertion hole to guide an axial force along the axis of the insertion hole to a lateral direction non-parallel with the axis, so as to generate a lateral component force for opening the at least one cover panel. The recoil mechanism is disposed on the body to push the at least one cover panel to a closed position for closing the insertion hole. With such an arrangement, an automatic cover-opening device that can be applied for insertion of a rod-like object is provided.Type: GrantFiled: January 23, 2015Date of Patent: July 4, 2017Assignee: SDI CorporationInventor: Szu-Yu Chen

Patent number: 9696255Abstract: An image processing method of two-photon structured illumination point scanning microscopy is disclosed. The image processing method includes the following steps: providing a laser light source; performing scanning and recording; and performing image reconstruction. The laser light source, which has photon energy that is half of the energy needed to let a molecule of a sample make a transition from ground state to a first excited state, is focused onto a focal plane of the sample. Then, the laser light source is accompanied with an image recording system to perform a plurality of segmented scanning and image recordings on the sample to generate a plurality of structured illumination images. Those structured illumination images are reconstructed to generate microscopic image of the sample. With the implementation of the present invention, the interference from image signal on the non-focal plane can be effectively reduced, thereby enhancing the resolution of microscopic image.Type: GrantFiled: October 16, 2015Date of Patent: July 4, 2017Assignee: National Central UniversityInventors: Szu-Yu Chen, Chia-Hua Yeh

Patent number: 9689797Abstract: The present invention discloses a microscopy imaging structure with phase conjugated mirror and the method thereof. The afore-mentioned imaging structure produces a reverse focusing conjugated probe beam together with an original probe beam. These two probe beams meet at the focal point in the object body to be probed, and an interference pattern is produced. The interval between any two consecutive wave fronts in the interference pattern is then half of the wavelength of the original probe beam, and hence the vertical resolution of the image is improved. The present invention also applies a light modulator module on the probe beam to easily adjust the depth of the focal point of the probe beam and the phase conjugated reverse focusing probe beam in the object body. With the adoption of this invention, the size or position limitation of the target object is eliminated and the imaging resolution is also improved.Type: GrantFiled: October 15, 2012Date of Patent: June 27, 2017Assignee: National Central UniversityInventors: Ching-Cherng Sun, Yeh-Wei Yu, Che-Chu Lin, Szu-Yu Chen
