  • Patent number: 5328274
Abstract: A bearing housing, particularly for a liquid ring pump, having an angular bottom projection for aligning the housing with and in a groove-containing receiving base with which it mates and to which it is attached, along with locator stops for accurate end-to-end spacing.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 26, 1992
Date of Patent: July 12, 1994
    Assignee: Vooner Vacuum Pumps, Inc.
Inventors: T. Michael Wallace, Charles H. Wunner
  • Patent number: 5290152
Abstract: An improved water delivery system for a liquid ring vacuum pump which delivers water through the side of the pump wall. A manifold system aligns outlet ports of the manifold with the inlet ports of the pump itself. Access ports with plugs or caps are also aligned with the pump inlet ports, to provide a quick and easy access to clean out sediment from the manifold. The improved manifold system allows efficient employment of secondary plant liquid in the operation of a liquid ring vacuum pump.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: March 1, 1994
    Assignee: Vooner Vacuum Pumps, Inc.
Inventors: T. Michael Wallace, Charles H. Wunner
  • Patent number: 5246348
Abstract: An improved liquid ring vacuum pump apparatus and method for reducing wear between the cone and rotor vanes, by reducing the water flow contacting these parts, by injecting only fresh water into the seal segment while injecting secondary water into the pump through the housing. The apparatus includes dual water injectors, one injector at the periphery of the housing, and a second injector central within the housing, each of which is supplied by a different water source. A novel cone structure including grooves and notches for directing fluid to specific segments within the pump.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 14, 1992
Date of Patent: September 21, 1993
    Assignee: Vooner Vacuum Pumps, Inc.
Inventors: T. Michael Wallace, Charles H. Wunner
  • Patent number: 5222869
Abstract: An improved liquid ring vacuum pump apparatus for reducing wear between the cone and rotor vanes, in which a novel cone structure has a greater thickness and greater external radius in the seal segment than in the remaining segments. An alternative embodiment includes a replaceable wear plate in the seal segment. The cone structure includes grooves and notches for directing fluid to specific segments within the pump.
