  • Publication number: 20040200373
Abstract: A solid column explosive charge method for blasting rock includes a hollow gas-filled core component arranged collinearly in concentrically spaced relation within a vertical borehole, the core component being seated upon a first layer of particulate explosive material, and a first annular portion of the particulate explosive material being arranged concentrically about the core component. The first layer and the first annular portion are in engagement to define a continuous explosive column. A plurality of core components together with associated layers and annular portions of the explosive charge may be arranged in a continuous vertical column, the total volume of the core components being from 10 percent to 25 percent of the volume of the explosive column. A top layer of inert fill material is arranged above the core component to close the upper end of the bore opening.

  • Publication number: 20040199244
Abstract: A self-expanding metal wire stent made of shape memory alloy such as nitinol in which a plurality of spaced sections of closed cells are interconnected by straight sections of wire which may be parallel to the longitudinal axis of the stent or may be disposed angularly with respect thereto.

  • Publication number: 20040158312
Abstract: A stent comprising a plurality of continuous filaments braided together, at least one filament comprising a tapered filament having at least one first region having a first, relatively-larger cross-sectional area and at least one second region having a second, relatively-smaller cross-sectional area. The stent itself may have a tapered diameter, such as from one end to the other.

  • Publication number: 20040150225
Abstract: Tube connectors and tube connector systems are provided. An exemplary system includes a first sleeve, a second sleeve, and radially compressible ring. A tube fits radially inside of the ring and the first and second sleeves. As the first and second sleeves are coupled and brought closer together, inner surfaces of the sleeves exert a radial force onto the ring, causing the ring to radially compress onto the tube.

  • Patent number: 6769937
Abstract: A modular jack assembly includes a dielectric housing means having a mating face. At least one conductive terminal has a body portion mounted in the housing and a contact arm cantilevered from the mating face. The contact arm has a contact portion near a distal end thereof for engaging a contact of a modular jack plug to flex the arm in a direction generally parallel to the mating face. The contact arm has an engaging portion located between the contact portion and the body portion. The housing has a first wall for engaging the engaging portion of the terminal and a second wall for engaging the contact portion of the terminal to prevent overflexing of the contact arm.
