Both reversible and irreversible inhibitors are disclosed.The invention encompasses the use of inhibitors of the active site of the factor VII and VIIa component of [TF:VII/VIIa] as diagnostic reagents, as analytical reagents, and as therapeutic drugs.The invention includes the compounds based on the following general formula for both reversible and irreversible selective inhibition of [TF:VII/VIIa].
