The system and method enable detection whether a handheld electronic device is set to a predetermined power consumption state whereby the handheld electronic device operates in a power supplying state of a standby battery and whether a main battery of the handheld electronic device is disconnected, allowing a user to change the main battery without shutting down the handheld electronic device and thereby saving time.
