  • Publication number: 20060072167
Abstract: An image signal modulation method is applicable to an optical scanner to obtain compensated image when the light source is not stable during starting. It first scans a document to get corresponding optoelectronic signals of pixels at different positions. Then, it transfers the optoelectronic signals to a memory unit for adjusting a shading table and parameters of an ASIC to compensate the brightness of each pixel, resemble a condition of stable luminosity, and generate an updated shading table. Finally, it compensates the optoelectronic signals of each corresponding pixel according to the updated shading table, and obtains the scanned image data. The compensation solves the problem of luminosity changing and variation during starting of scanning so that an instant use of scanner is available.

  • Patent number: 6969000
Abstract: An optical module apparatus equipped with a latch coupler includes a carrier movable on a guiding rod. The guiding rod is coupled with a turnable check member. When the optical module apparatus is on a flat and using position, the check member may pass through a check trough to enable the carrier to move freely and linearly and reciprocally. When the optical module apparatus is mounted in an inclined manner and moved away from the using position, the check member is subject to the gravity force and turns in parallel with the direction of the gravity force, and is latched on the check trough to restrict the moving range of the carrier. Thus the optical module apparatus may be prevented from moving by external forces during transportation and avoid being damaged.

  • Patent number: 6829065
Abstract: A glass supporting device of a scanner comprises an upper cover, a lower cover, a front cover, and a glass sheet. The upper and lower covers, and the front cover can be integrated. The lateral sides of the upper cover are installed with a plurality of sliding tracks. The sliding tracks and the edges of the top of the upper cover are formed with a shape track. Therefore, the glass sheet can be slid into the track manually for being positioned therein. The track serves for supporting the glass sheet. In the present invention, the glass sheet is easily assembled and detached. The upper cover and glass sheet is updated independently. Therefore, the assembling work is performed quickly and the cost for detaching parts are low.

  • Publication number: 20040080797
Abstract: A scanner consists of a base and a lid pivotally engaged with each other. The base includes a light generator and a reflective document scan module. The lid contains a penetrative document scan module. Light generated by the light generator projects to a scanned document located between the base and the lid. Depending on whether the scanned document is a reflective document or a penetrative document, the light may be reflected to the reflective document scan module, or penetrate the penetrative document to reach the penetrative document scan module. Thus the invention has two optical paths for scanning reflective documents and penetrative documents. And the two scan modules may provide different resolutions to scan the reflective documents and penetrative documents.
