Abstract: A method is provided for processing a print job according to print job specifications by means of production steps on a printing system, the printing system including a plurality of production modules and a user interface, each production module performing a production step in order to deliver a resulting product of the production step. The method includes performing a production step by means of a production module of the plurality of production modules delivering the resulting product, establishing a real-life perspective image of the resulting product taking into account the print job specifications, and displaying the real-life perspective image on the user interface. A printing system is provided for carrying out the method.

The method includes, for each print job, the steps of printing the print job by the image-processing apparatus, and stacking output of the print job in the output module. The control unit is configured to maintain an output check list and the method further includes the step of, when a recoverable error occurs during processing of the print job, that does not lead to an automatic stop of the processing but is likely to cause faulted pages in the printed output, automatically creating an entry in the output check list, so as to advise an operator to check the possibly faulted pages in the output stack.
