  • Patent number: 4345433
Abstract: Trapped air method of generating turbine or rotary power within a deepsea environment. Rotary turbine power is generated by admitting water through a submerged turbine and into a trapped air sphere, so as to compress the trapped air. As the sphere fills with water, the compressed air assists in bleeding of the admitted water from the sphere via a flexible conduit extending to a point above the sea surface.

  • Patent number: 4215544
Abstract: Method of generating rotary or turbine power within a deepsea environment, for drilling a hole in the seabed and dropping of a mooring pile in the hole so drilled. Rotary turbine power is developed by admitting water through a submerged turbine and into an evacuated sphere. The turbine drives an auger which engages and drills a hole in the seabed. An inorganic polymer may be supported in the evacuated sphere, so as to be reactant with admitted seawater for bleeding off of pure water and hydrogen gas at a surface location.

  • Patent number: 4181455
Abstract: Apparatus for generating rotary or turbine power within a deepsea environment, so as to drill a hole in the seabed and drop a mooring pile into the hole so drilled. Rotary turbine power is developed by admitting water through a submerged turbine and into an evacuated sphere. The turbine drives an auger which engages and drills a hole in the seabed. The apparatus includes a mooring pile support closure, adapted to drop a mooring pile into the hole which has been drilled in the seabed. An inorganic polymer may be supported within the evacuated sphere, so as to be reactant with admitted seawater for bleeding of pure water and hydrogen gas to a surface location.

  • Patent number: 4160613
Abstract: A pile anchor for moorings of the type which includes a flexible housing in combination with both a bellis expander and a pair of pivotable flukes extending through apertures in the housing. As load is placed upon the anchor cable, the anchor stock is reciprocated within the housing to expand the bellis against the housing sides which are pushed against the pile hole. Simultaneously the anchor flukes are pivoted to extend through the housing apertures and engage the sides of the pile hole. A pair of such bellis expanders may be employed together with a pair of pivotable flukes to assure positive gripping expansion of the piling assembly with the sides of the pile hole.
