  • Patent number: 4268330
Abstract: A green tire building process comprises: the steps of: jointing both longitudinal ends of a belt-like tread rubber for producing an endless tread band, and applying the endless tread band on an inner periphery of an annular face: jointing both longitudinal ends of a belt-like breaker ply for producing an endless breaker band, and disposing the endless breaker band within said endless tread band with its mid-circumferential plane being aligned with that of said endless tread band; expanding the endless breaker band radially and applying the endless breaker band on the inner periphery of the endless tread band for building a tread breaker assembly; disposing a cylindrical green case within and in coaxial relation with the tread breaker assembly; deforming the cylindrical green case toroidally to be applied on the inner periphery of the endless breaker band for integrally building the cylindrical green case and the tread breaker assembly.

  • Patent number: 4267360
Abstract: Derivatives of hexafluoropropene dimer expressed by the following general formula ##STR1## in which R.sub.f represents (CF.sub.3).sub.2 C.dbd.C(CF.sub.2 CF.sub.3) or (CF.sub.3).sub.2 CH--CF(CF.sub.2 CF.sub.3) and R represents a hydrocarbon residue of a carboxylic acid having one free site capable of reacting with the dimer. A process for preparing the derivatives is also disclosed in which the dimer is contacted with the carboxylic acid in an inert solvent in the presence of a catalyst. Metal, amine or ammonium salts of the acid may be also used for the reaction, in which case the reaction is feasible in the absence of a catalyst.

  • Patent number: 4069266
Abstract: A process for preparing fluorine-rich organic compounds containing one or two carbon atoms from organic fluoro compounds of lower fluorine content in which starting partially or completely halogenated fluoro carbon compounds having at least one halogen atom other than fluorine, e.g., CHCl.sub.2 F, CHClF.sub.2, CCl.sub.2 F.sub.2, CCl.sub.3 F, C.sub.2 Cl.sub.3 F.sub.3, C.sub.2 Cl.sub.2 F.sub.4 and C.sub.2 Cl.sub.4 F.sub.2, are contacted under disproportionation conditions with a catalyst system of a specific type which comprises 0.1 - 5% by weight, as metal, of a nickel(II) halide, titanium(III) chloride or titanium(III) fluoride and a balance of an aluminum compound such as activated alumina, silica, alumina or aluminum fluoride.

  • Patent number: 4057591
Abstract: Oligomers of tetrafluoroethylene are prepared by oligomerization of tetrafluoroethylene in an organic solvent in the presence of a fluoride compound and a crown ether. The catalytic action of the fluoride compound can be far improved when the fluoride compound is used together with a crown ether.

  • Patent number: 4042638
Abstract: Oligomers of hexafluoropropene are prepared by oligomerization of hexafluoropropene in an organic solvent in the presence of a halide compound and a crown ether. The selectivity to the dimer or trimer may vary depending on the kind of solvent. For example, the oligomerization of hexafluoropropene in acetonitrile or methylene chloride in the vicinity of room temperature gives the dimer thereof at high selectivity. Use of N,N-dimethylformamide favors the formation of the trimer at high selectivity.
