  • Patent number: 8081442
Abstract: A removable data-storage device. The removable data-storage device includes a main data-storage unit, an exterior housing for containing the main data-storage unit, an elastic shock-reduction part between an inner wall of the exterior housing and the main data-storage unit for reducing a mechanical shock to the main data-storage unit by elasticity and an external connector exposed from an opening of the exterior housing. The main data-storage unit is placed at the rear of the external connector as viewed from the opening. The external connector is joined and secured to the main data-storage unit and the exterior housing. In addition, the elastic shock-reduction part is configured to deform with a movement of the main data-storage unit in the exterior housing produced by a mechanical shock and a movable range of the external connector is smaller than a movable range of the main data-storage unit.

    Filed: May 29, 2009
Date of Patent: December 20, 2011
Assignee: Hitachi Global Storage Technologies, Netherlands B.V.
Inventors: Gentaro Nakamura, Hirokazu Tanizawa, Tadaaki Tomikawa, Tetsuo Yuki

  • Patent number: 7077670
Abstract: An electronic component storing case capable of accommodating an electronic component includes a case member having an opening in its first end face, a shutter member which is arranged in the opening of the case member, pivotal outwardly to open/close the opening, and biased in a closing direction by a first resilient member, and a lever member which has a first end extending to an outside of the case member from at least its one side surface perpendicular to the first end face of the case member, and a second end which acts on the shutter member. The lever member converts an operating force to be applied to the first end into a biasing force for biasing the shutter member in an opening direction.

Date of Patent: July 18, 2006
Assignees: Canon Kabushiki Kaisha, Hitachi, Ltd.
