  • Patent number: 7674412
Abstract: The apparatus is for forming a resin film from a resin for a middle portion to form a resin film main body of the resin film and a resin for edge portions to form both side edge portions in a crosswise direction of the resin film. The apparatus comprises: a feed block which includes a joining part where the resin for the middle portion in a molten state and the resin for the edge portions in a molten state are joined in such a manner as to enclose both side edges in the crosswise direction of the resin film main body with the resin for the edge portions; and an extruding die through which the joined resins are extruded to form the resin film. Thus, a method and apparatus for forming the resin film can avoid the inclusion of the resin for the middle portion in the trimmed-off selvages while preventing the film separation of the resins for the middle portion and for the edge portions, and therefore, increase the recyclability and the productivity of the resin film.

  • Patent number: 7460756
Abstract: A preform (15) having a clad part of PVDF and a core part of PMMA is manufactured. The preform (15) is partially heated in a heating furnace (74) of 240° C. The preform (15) is subject to the melt-drawing process to form a plastic optical fiber (17). The drawing tension to the preform (15) is measured by use of a drawing tension measure device (76). Based on the measured value, a drawing roller pair (78) adjusts the drawing tension to be 3.8 MPa. The plastic optical fiber (17) is fed via a dancer roller (82) and rollers (84, 86) toward a bobbin (87) to wind the plastic optical fiber (17). A winding tension measure device (85) measures the winding tension to the POF (17). Based on the measured value, the dancer roller (82) changes its position to adjust the winding tension to be 2.5 MPa.

  • Publication number: 20080277810
Abstract: A preform (15) is hung from an arm (72) into a heating furnace (74). The heating furnace (74) has five heater units (90-94). A gas supply device (77) supplies nitrogen gas to the heating furnace (74). The heating furnace (74) is divided into five sections by orifices (95-100), and the temperature of each divided section is controlled by the heater units (90-94) provided in each section. A seal member (106) attached to the top side of the heating furnace (74) shields the heating furnace (74) from external air, so it is possible to prevent turbulence in the divided sections in the heating furnace (74).

  • Publication number: 20080116596
Abstract: A producing apparatus for producing a plastic optical fiber (11), in which a refractive index is distributed in a direction toward a center of a diameter (D1, D2), is provided. A first collection block (58) causes first and second molten resins (22, 23, 84, 85) together to flow to form a first multi layer fluid resin (22, 23) in a concentric fiber shape. A second collection block (59, 60) causes a third molten resin (21, 24) to flow together with the first multi layer fluid resin to form a second multi layer fluid resin (21-24) in a concentric fiber shape, so as to produce the plastic optical fiber from at least three resins. Also, the three resins contain a dopant at densities different from one another. Furthermore, a first diffusion tube (61) diffuses the dopant in the first multi layer fluid resin. A second diffusion tube (62, 63) diffuses the dopant in the second multi layer fluid resin.

  • Publication number: 20070154633
Abstract: A coating apparatus having a die (30) and a nipple (31) coats a plastic optical fiber (11) with a protective layer (39) formed from a thermoplastic resin (32). The diameter TA (?m) of the die, the outer diameter TB1 (?m) of the nipple, the inner diameter TB2 (?m) of the nipple and the diameter D (?m) of the optical plastic fiber satisfy the following formulae: 20 (?m)?(TA?TB1)?1500 (?m) 20 (?m)?(TB2?D)?600 (?m) 400 (?m)<(TB1?TB2)?1500 (?m) Thereby, the thermoplastic resin (32) is coated on the plastic optical fiber (11) without causing stress distribution to the plastic optical fiber (11).

  • Publication number: 20060289109
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for manufacturing laminates comprising the steps of: nipping a running belt-shaped base and a film of thermoplastic resin discharged in a molten state from a die between a nip roller and a cooling roller while coating the base with the resin film whereby the base and the resin film are stuck together; blowing a gas that can permeate the resin film from a gas blast nozzle onto the roller surface of the cooling roller whereby the gas is brought to the position of the nipping by accompanying the rotation of the cooling roller; and intercepting an air that accompanies the rotation of the cooling roller by providing an intercepting member upstream from the position of the gas blowing as viewed in the rotating direction of the cooling roller.

  • Patent number: 7111657
Abstract: In the resin film forming method for extruding a fused resin from an extruder die to form a resin film, the second resin forming both ends in width direction of the resin film uses a resin greater in extension viscosity than the first resin forming the center in width direction of the resin film. Thereby, even if production conditions such as resin condition and operating conditions change, faults such as neck-in and its resultant thickening at both ends of the resin film can be suppressed. In the production of a laminate by nipping a support and a resin film of a thermoplastic resin by means of a nip roller and a cooling roller while coating the resin film onto the surface of the support, the accompanying air following the rotation of the cooling roller to the nip point is shut off by blowing a gas permeable through the resin film from a gas jet nozzle toward the surface of the cooling roller.

  • Patent number: 7090479
Abstract: The manufacturing apparatus of a resin molded product has a feed block that sets a layer configuration of the resin molded product obtained by molding a plurality of molten resins. The feed block includes a feed block body having a through hole, and a plurality of replacement blocks that are removably fitted into the through hole and have layer configuring passages corresponding to different layer configurations. A replacement block before change is pushed out of the through hole by a replacement block having a layer configuring passage corresponding to a layer configuration after change, thereby changing the layer configuration. This allows an easy change of a layer configuration, and in particular, prevents degradation of resin due to heat or oxidation, and reduces time for the change and a material loss even when a significant change of the layer configuration such as a change of a layer arrangement is performed.

  • Patent number: 6830644
Abstract: Rollers, substrates, products and the like are not smeared with a sticky volatile component when a gas is blown from a blower provided near an extruding die to produce laminates. The blower is heated by a heater at a temperature not below the volatilization temperature of the volatile component volatilized from a resin film of thermoplastic resin extruded in molten conditions from the extruding die, and therefore the volatile component cannot stick on the blower and is immediately volatilized on the blower.
