  • Patent number: 7207918
Abstract: A mechanical continuously variable transmission in which the power roller is in “line contact” with the counter roller instead of conventional “pinpoint contact”. By utilizing line contact of the power roller and the counter roller, the pressure force between the metal components of a mechanical continuously variable transmission can be reduced. In addition, the line contact also reduces extra energy for maintaining the operation thereof. The configuration of the roll surface of the power roller, which is rotated by a rotation axle connected to an input axle, is formed into a partial configuration of a sphere. A plurality of counter rollers, which are in line contact with the power roller having said roll surface, are arranged in a circle by a disk. Each counter roller is formed with a concave roll surface corresponding to the partial configuration of the sphere on the surface thereof. The counter rollers are driven to rotate by the rotation of the power roller in contact therewith.

  • Publication number: 20060049149
Abstract: To provide a plasma spray apparatus, having a reduced number of jet ports for the working medium transformed into plasma, resulting in a simplified structure thereof, and even when the trajectory of the working medium becomes misaligned, the apparatus remains capable of producing a plasma flame that can properly melt the spray material; thus, the spray material can be used effectively. Two jet paths in the plasma spray apparatus are formed at both sides of one supply port for spray material 17 and are arranged so that the axial directions cross each other at the outside of the nozzle anode 11; two cathodes 13 are disposed inside the two jet paths 12; and the openings of the jet paths 12 are formed into elongated holes so that the center lines thereof are parallel to each other and the areas thereof are the same.

  • Publication number: 20030075618
Abstract: The thermal spraying torch 100 is capable of successively supplying a thermal spray material 80 heated and fused by a plasma forming gas in an arc generated between electrodes contained in an outer cylinder 10, or by a combustion gas supplied passing through the outer cylinder 10 and burned under high temperature conditions. The torch can spray the thermal spray material 80 via a nozzle 40 by the plasma forming gas or the combustion gas so that droplet(s) 81 can be formed, and a rotatable discharge member 60 is contained in a forward portion of the nozzle 40 and has a droplet passage 61 for the droplet(s) 81 at the center so that the droplet(s) 81 can be jetted together with the forming gas or the combustion gas.

  • Patent number: 5235144
Abstract: A linear motor driven elevator including in an elevator shaft, a fixed portion, an upper turning portion, and a lower turning portion. An ascending passage and a descending passage are sectionally formed between both turning portions in the fixed portion in a manner that the passages are positioned oppositely. A plurality of cages are accommodated in the passages, the cages being provided with permanent magnets which oppose the linear motor primary coils. Locking mechanisms for selectively locking the cages in position are provided. The turning portions each include a motor driven turn table which rotates the cage about the center axis of the elevator shaft to switch from the ascending to the descending passages and vice versa.

  • Patent number: 4860928
Abstract: A powder constant-volume feeder includes a canister having on the inner surface thereof a fin for transferring powder upwards and is inclined to form a return portion for the powder which has been transferred by the fin. A bucket wheel has a plurality of buckets for continuously transferring the powder from the interior of the return portion to a powder hopper. The powder hopper receives the powder from the interior of the buckets of the bucket wheel. A constant volume of powder can thus be fed continously at a constant bulk density.
