  • Patent number: 4896589
Abstract: An air conditioning control system for an automotive vehicle equipped with windowpanes has a humidity sensor for sensing humidity on the inner surface of a windowpane, and a temperature sensor for sensing temperature of the inner surface of the windowpane. When the sensed humidity on the inner surface is higher than a first predetermined value corresponding to the sensed temperature of the inner surface, the inner surface is determined to be in a state immediately before a mist occurs, and demisting control is executed. A second predetermined value lower than the first predetermined value by a predetermined amount is determined after the start of the demisting control. When the sensed latest value of the humidity on the inner surface becomes lower than the second predetermined value, it is determined that the mist has been cleared away, and the demisting conrol is stopped.

  • Patent number: 4895000
Abstract: In an air conditioning system for vehicles which includes a compressor of a variable capacity type, a comparison is made between a compressor capacity required for an air conditioning control and a compressor capacity required for a demist control. The compressor capacity is controlled so as to be brought to greater one of the compressor capacities compared with each other. Alternatively, when it is judged that a windowpane is misted, the compressor capacity is increased and, simultaneously, the temperature of air blown into the compartment is raised. Alternatively, the compressor capacity is controlled so as to be increased within a range of a set maximum allowable capacity until the mist on the windowpane is cleared off when it is judged that the mist occurs on the windowpane.

  • Patent number: 4871011
Abstract: An air-conditioning equipment for a vehicle includes first and second local shutter control units each having a motor for moving a shutter, a drive circuit for driving the motor, a controlling device responsive to a heat load signal to control the drive circuit to thereby control the shutter in accordance with the heat load signal, and a blower control unit responsive to changes in opening of the shutter to control the rate of an air flow. Since separate shutter control units are provided, each shutter can be controlled independently, thus preventing all the air-conditioning functions from halting simutaneously otherwise occurred in conventional air-conditioning equipment having a central control unit or microcomputer.

  • Patent number: 4856291
Abstract: In an air conditioning system for automotive vehicles, a thermal load on the system is detected, and a desired value of suction pressure of refrigerant gas to a variable capacity type compressor is calculated on the basis of the detected thermal load, in accordance with a predetermined suction-pressure vs. thermal-load characteristic. The suction pressure is controlled on the basis of the calculated desired suction-pressure value. A value of torque required for driving the compressor is calculated on the basis of the calculated suction pressure, on the basis of the detected thermal load in accordance with a predetermined required-driving-torque vs. suction-pressure characteristic. Engine rotational speed at idling is set on the basis of the calculated torque value.

  • Patent number: 4856293
Abstract: An air-conditioning control system for automotive vehicles, comprising a compressor variable in capacity in accordance with a change in suction pressure thereof. A controller is provided which carries out demisting control, on the basis of output signals from various sensors, in such a manner that, when outdoor-air temperature is equal to or lower than a predetermined value and at the same time the air-conditioning control system is in the indoor-air recirculating mode, the suction pressure set by the controller is lowered to a value at which temperature on the outlet side of an evaporator is brought to a value equal to or lower than a predetermined freezing temperature, and when a state in which freezing of the evaporator may occur has continued for a predetermined period of time, the set suction pressure of the compressor is raised until the temperature on the outlet side of the evaporator is brought to a value equal to or higher than a predetermined non-freezing temperature.

  • Patent number: 4672816
Abstract: A cooling system includes a circuit for the adjusting of the capacity of a compressor of a refrigeration cycle, and a circuit for stopping a blower until an evaporator of the refrigeration cycle is substantially dewed after the starting of the compressor and a circuit for driving the compressor at the maximum capacity until the blower has begun to be driven. The evaporator is cooled quickly because the compressor is driven at its maximum capacity, so that the time of the stoppage of the blower can be short while preventing a bad odor from circulating.
