  • Patent number: 7201685
Abstract: The present invention comprises a pulley, a shaft body which is rotatable relative to the pulley and is concentrically disposed radially inside of the pulley, a one-way clutch which is interposed at an annular space between the pulley and the shaft body, a rolling bearing which is disposed in the annular space adjacent to the one-way clutch in an axial direction, an inner annular seal which is provided outside the rolling bearing in the annular space, and an outer annular seal which is provided outside the inner annular seal and has a proximal end portion and a distal end side lip. The proximal end portion of the outer annular seal is fixed to one of an inner peripheral surface of the pulley and an outer peripheral surface of the shaft body, and the distal end side lip of the outer annular seal contacts the other peripheral surface.

  • Patent number: 7056247
Abstract: A pulley unit includes a pulley and a rotor concentrically disposed for relative rotation, a one-way clutch interposed in an annular space therebetween, rolling bearings provided on opposite sides of the one-way clutch, and a seal ring for sealing the annular space. An inner diametrical surface of the pulley forms an outer ring raceway of the one-way clutch and the rolling bearing, and an outer diametrical surface of the shaft body forms an inner ring raceway of the one-way clutch and the rolling bearing. An outer diameter side of an annular portion of a retainer of the rolling bearing on the side of the seal ring is reduced so as to increase a storage volume of lubricating oil between the rolling bearing and the seal ring.

  • Patent number: 6343682
Abstract: A one-way clutch has an annular space through which an outer ring and an inner ring face each other, the outer ring and the inner ring being disposed inside and outside each other in a diameter direction and concentrically with each other. A lubricant for lubricating an inner peripheral face of the outer ring and an outer peripheral face of the inner ring on which rollers roll is prepared by mixing a urea-based consistency increasing agent into ester-based or synthetic oil-based base oil with a pressure viscosity coefficient (at a temperature of 25° C.) set at 12 GPa−1 or more. The lubricant provides for movement of state switching components to be stabilized even at a low temperature and wear of the state switching components and operating faces can be suppressed even at a high temperature.

  • Patent number: 6311814
Abstract: A one-way clutch has rollers individually disposed in wedge-shaped spaces formed at positions along a circumference between an inner annular body and an outer annular body which are disposed concentrically. The wedge angle of each wedge-shaped space is fixed at a preferred value. As a result, an engagement position of the roller becomes shallow when the roller is positioned on a narrower side of the wedge-shaped space and gaps between the roller and the inner and outer annular bodies become small when the roller is positioned on a wider side of the wedge-shaped space. Therefore, the rollers move smoothly when switching between the lock state and the free state.

  • Patent number: 5948340
Abstract: There is disclosed a die used to mold a cage having a cylindrical body out of a synthetic resin such that the strength of the portion of the molded cage formed by two meeting streams of the injected material is increased. The die comprises die members having parting surfaces in abutment with each other. A mold cavity conforming in shape with the cylindrical body of the cage is formed between the die members. When the die members, are in abutment with each other, a gate and a resin reservoir are formed along one parting surface and outside the mold cavity. The gate and resin reservoir are in communication with the cavity.

  • Patent number: 5807920
Abstract: The present invention provides a retainer made of synthetic resin for a rolling-contact element such as a roller of a rolling-contact bearing or a one-way clutch, which is used in a lubricating oil. The retainer comprises an aliphatic polyamide resin as a matrix and a hydrocarbon polymer having no oil resistance and good compatibility with the matrix, which is dispersed in the matrix. Examples of the thermoplastic hydrocarbon polymer include olefin polymer and styrene polymer.
