  • Patent number: 5642146
Abstract: An optical device for forming a latent image on the surface of a photosensitive member by an optical head, developing the latent image and transferring the developed toner image onto a transfer sheet at a transferring section. The transfer sheet is transported at least at the transfer section in a direction inclined relative to a direction perpendicular to the rotation axis of the photosensitive member at an angle of distortion of the latent image which occurs when the optical head forms the latent image on the surface of the photosensitive member, thereby toner particles in the transfer section receive twisting force and the distortion of the latent image is corrected when the latent image is transferred to the transfer sheet.

  • Patent number: 5436710
Abstract: In the present invention, the fixing device for fixing toner images on a sheet comprises a LED array 1 provided with a plurality of LEDs and a cyrindrical lens 2. The cyrindrical lens 2 is arranged along the LED array 1 to condense the light emitted from the LED array 1 onto the surface of the sheet 3. Therefore, the toner image 8 is fused via heat of the condensed light of the LED array 1 condensed by the cyrindrical lens 2, such that the toner image 8 is fixed onto the surface of the sheet 3.

  • Patent number: 5029837
Abstract: A sheet feeding apparatus has a stocker unit for storing a stack of sheet materials, a forward sheet feed roller having an operative condition capable of feeding a sheet material in a forward direction from the stocker unit during each cycle of operation of the apparatus, a sheet passageway through which a sheet material is to be fed in the forward direction further away from the stocker unit, a detector assembly for detecting the presence of a single sheet material or the concurrent presence of two or more sheet materials in the sheet passageway, a backward/forward feed roller located in proximity to the forward sheet feed roller and operative to feed a sheet material in a backward direction toward the stocker unit, a control system for actuating the backward/forward feed roller to feed a sheet material in the backward direction toward the stocker unit if the concurrent presence of two or more sheet materials in the sheet passageway is detected by the detector assembly when the forward sheet feed roller is i

  • Patent number: 4908712
Abstract: A method for reproduction of a multi-tone color image by combination of chromatic inks of cyan, magenta and yellow together with an achromatic ink of black. In the region of lower tone levels than a prescribed value, the image is formed by the complete under color removal, namely, by the sole use of the achromatic ink. In the region of higher tone levels than the prescribed value, the reproduction of the image is attained by performing the under color removal at a ratio of decrease relative to the rise of the tone levels, namely by causing the chromatic inks to overlap the achromatic ink.

  • Patent number: 4897667
Abstract: Disclosed is an ink jet printer in which an ink is continuously spouted through a nozzle and divided into ink droplet. The ink droplets are selectively charged by supplied pulse voltages. After the supply of a prescribed charging voltage to a charging electrode is stopped, a voltage lower than the charging voltage is supplied to the electrode. Consequently, the ink droplets destined to land on a recording medium is prevented from making any deflected movement and from ginving rise to secondary dots. During the intitial period of the supply of the charging voltage to the charging electrode, a voltage higher that the normal charging voltage is supplied to preclude the occurrence of ink droplets of an intermediate potential due to a time lag between the time the voltage is supplied to the charging electrode and the time the ink droplets are electrically charged. Any attempt at heightening the operating speed of the printer entails no occurrence of secondary dots.

  • Patent number: 4595191
Abstract: A paper feed device includes a paper cassette with separating pawls which can be detachably mounted on the paper feed section of an apparatus body. The separating pawls are retractable out of a sheet-separating position in response to detachment of the cassette from the paper feed section, and positionable into a sheet-separating position in response to mounting of the cassette on the paper feed section.

  • Patent number: 4538160
Abstract: An ink jet recording apparatus comprises an ink jetting nozzle for jetting a colored ink to deposit on a recording paper and a liquid jetting nozzle for jetting a processing liquid to deposit on the recording paper. Depending on the type of the processing liquid, the deposits of the processing liquid may be formed on the recording paper in either overlaying or overlaid relation to the deposits of the colored ink.

  • Patent number: 3968498
Abstract: An X-Y plotter which effects non-impact recording by the application of a jet of liquid marking medium to a recording medium while the amount of liquid marking medium to be jetted towards the recording medium is controlled in accordance with the recording velocity. To this end, a signal generator is employed for generating an output signal in response to receipt of signals respectively indicative of the velocity of an X-axis carriage of the X-Y plotter and of the velocity a Y-axis carriage of the X-Y plotter. The output signal emerging from the signal generator indicates the recording velocity which is defined by the square root of the sum of the second power of the velocity of the X-axis carriage and that of the velocity of the Y-axis carriage. The amount of liquid marking medium to be jetted is controlled in response to the recording velocity so that the liquid marking medium can be jetted in an amount proportional to the recording velocity.

  • Patent number: 3941312
Abstract: A recording unit is disclosed which is provided with a hollow, very small nozzle supplied with a liquid imaging material, an electrode plate having formed therein a through hole coaxial with the nozzle and disposed opposite to the tip of the nozzle and a ring of small diameter disposed on the nozzle coaxially therewith in the vicinity of its tip or between the nozzle and the electrode plate. A convergent or unfluctuated jet of the liquid imaging material produced by a voltage applied between the nozzle and the electrode plate disposed opposite thereto is directed through the through hole of the electrode plate to a recording member or medium placed adjacent to the electrode plate on the opposite side from the nozzle. The convergent jet of the liquid imaging material thus produced is made intermittent by applying a voltage to the ring, thereby to record images.
