  • Patent number: 5803131
Abstract: A fuel additive pipe 11 comprised of a pipe main body 12 and a plating layer 13 formed on the external or interior wall surface of the pipe main body 12 and composed of an electroless plating layer 131 and an electroplating layer 132. The pipe main body 12 contains a high-density polyethylene as a base material and an additive 21 such as mica. While the pipe main body 12 is subjected to an etching treatment, the additive 21 does not dissolve in the etching solution, so that the additive 21 protrudes from the surface of the pipe main body 12. The thus protruding additive 21 serves as the starting point for forming the electroless plating layer 131 and promotes growth of the layer 131. This electroless plating layer 131 is firmly bonded with the pipe main body 12 by chemical absorption to the additive 21 from which inactive sites are removed by the etching treatment as well as by the physical absorption to the fine roughness formed by the etching treatment on the surface of the pipe main body 12.

  • Patent number: 5744763
Abstract: A soundproofing material 10 is applied to a vehicle hood panel 14 on the side facing the engine compartment. The soundproofing material 10 as a whole has a sheet-like form and includes a pulverized rubber layer 11 containing rubber grains of various kinds of material, various sizes and various shapes and covering layers 12 which cover the pulverized rubber layer 11. Noises are absorbed topically by a number of rubber grains within the soundproofing material 10 and by air gaps present between the rubber grains. While noise generating sources such as an engine, an induction system unit, transmissions and so on are housed in the engine compartment, noises ranging over a plurality of wavelength are generated by them yet are absorbed by the pulverized rubber layer 11, because the pulverized rubber layer 11 contains a mixture of rubber grains of various kinds, various sizes and various shapes, and the frequency level of the noise to be absorbed by each rubber grain is different piece by piece.

  • Patent number: 5741058
Abstract: An LED display device having an LED array for a meter on a printed circuit board. A diffusing radiation lens array is disposed facing the LED array. A cover lens is overlapped on the lens array. The cover lens transmits LED light which passed through the lens array. The cover lens has at least a scale mark, a character and a sign. A sheet is interposed between the lens array and the cover lens. The sheet limits radiation of predetermined diffused light from the lens array while partially transmitting the diffused light. The cover lens has a scale mark dent and a character dent formed on its rear interior surface, and displays the scale mark and character by means of an LED light from another LED array.

  • Patent number: 5447749
Abstract: A production method for a glass run of EPDM material with a urethane slip layer and/or a flocked layer on its glass sliding area, whereby a primer layer for a urethane slip layer or a flocked layer can be co-extruded together with a glass run substrate of EPDM material. The primer layer is a polymer blend of NBR 40-80%, EPDM 20-60% and SBR 0-35% by weight, respectively. Solventless urethane coating material is applied on each primer layer to form a urethane coat. Flocking is provided only on flocked layer area. The urethane coat is cured during vulcanization of the glass run substrate, and in this way a urethane slip layer and a flocking layer can be formed.

  • Patent number: 5265377
Abstract: A glass run of the invention includes a furrow part on which a window glass moves and slides. The furrows of the furrow part are inclined at a predetermined angle with respect to the sliding direction of the window glass. When dirt or dust is deposited in between the window glass and the furrow part, it enters the furrows of the furrow part. The slanted configuration of the furrows of the furrow part, in combination with the sliding force of the window glass, moves dust or dirt along the furrows to a position where the dirt does not rub against the end face of the window glass. The structure of the invention keeps the window glass from undesirably rubbing dust or dirt, thus preventing an increase in sliding resistance and undesirable noise.
