    Abstract: A disk playback apparatus comprises a stocker including a plurality of shelves for compact disks, a pallet disposed adjacent to the stocker, a lift stage for moving the stocker up and down so that a selected one of the shelves is located in a position higher than the pallet for a predetermined distance, a loader capable of reciprocating between an unloading position on the stocker side and a loading position on the pallet side, and a lifter in the loader. As the loader moves from the unloading position toward the loading position, the lifter lowers and feeds the disk on the selected shelf to the pallet while drawing out the disk from the stocker. As the loader moves from the loading position toward the unloading position, the lifter raises and returns the disk on the pallet to the selected shelf while pushing back the disk toward the stocker.

    Abstract: A mechanism for detecting stopping of rotation of a normally rotating member which mechanism can be minimized in its axial direction and reduced in production cost. The mechanism comprises a normally rotating member normally rotating in one direction around a fixed axis, and a detecting member for detecting stopping of rotation of the normally rotating member. One of the two members has a resilient contacting portion for resiliently contacting and fitting with the other member under a radially acting resilient force of the same thereby to produce a contact pressure between the two members. The detecting member is urged in a direction by the normally rotating member when the normally rotating member is rotating, and the detecting member detects stopping of rotation of the normally rotating member from disappearance of the urging force by the normally rotating member.

    Abstract: A disc-type recording medium transfer mechanism includes a tray transfer device movable in a first direction parallel to the direction of stacking of a plurality of trays, and also movable in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction to transfer a selected one of the trays between its storage position within a magazine and a playback standby position outside the magazine. A tray storage position memory member is movable in the first direction and releasably engageable with the tray transfer device for movement in the second direction together with the tray transfer device only when the tray transfer device is disposed in a tray insertion/withdrawal position. Upon departure of the tray transfer device from the tray insertion/withdrawal position, the memory member is detached from the tray transfer device and left over in a position previously assigned when it is engaged with the tray transfer device before the tray transfer device departs from the tray insertion/withdrawal portion.

    Abstract: An automatic stopping device for a tape feeding apparatus which can assuredly detect that a tape is wound to its last end and can stop feeding of the tape not only in a reproduction mode but also in a fast feeding mode of the tape feeding apparatus. Stopping of rotation of a reel shaft is detected by a frictionally cooperating cam follower which is thereupon disengaged from a circular cam and engaged with an operating element both on a turning force transmitting member to pivot a pivotal member so that the turning force transmitting member on the pivotal member is moved out of a turning force transmitting route from a capstan shaft to the reel shaft and a switch is operated to deenergize a motor connected to the capstan shaft. After stopping of the motor, a movable member may be manually moved to a rest mode position in which the cam follower is engaged with the circular cam again.

    Abstract: A dubbing tape recorder includes first and second tape drive units having independent recording or playback functions and mechanical portions of substantially the same structure and dimensions and nmounted respectively on separate chassis of substantially the same structure and dimensions. The drive units are arranged side by side as unitary subassemblies and are both driven by a common motor to drive their associated tapes. A common switch adapted for the actuation of the motor is disposed at a left or right end portion of the tape recorder. A switch operating mechanism which is actuated in the same manner no matter which one of the tape drive units is operated to actuate the motor is also arranged extending over both of the tape drive units. The switch is changed over by the switch operating mechanism to actuate the motor.

    Abstract: An automatic stopping mechanism for a tape feeding device which can detect an end of a tape to operate while the tape feeding device is in any of reproducing, recording, fast feeding and rewinding modes. In any operation mode, a driving route from a motor to a reel receiver is effective to tend to continuously rotate the reel receiver. Upon stopping of the reel receiver by an end of a tape, a rockable member is rocked to and remains at a position at which rotation of an cam disk interposed in the driving route is stopped by the rockable member and then a releasing member on which the cam disk is mounted is pivoted to move the cam disk out of the driving route, thereby stopping rotation of the reel receiver.

    Abstract: A cassette holding device for a tape recorder wherein the shock resistance thereof can be assured sufficiently with a simple construction during transportation and during normal use of the tape recorder and protection of a cassette holder, capstan shafts and a tape cassette and reduction in cost and facility in use of the entire tape recorder can be attained. The device comprises an ejecting member which holds, when it is at advanced position, an arresting member to an advanced position in which a cassette holder can receive therein a tape cassette inserted into the tape recorder. When the arresting member is at a retracted position, the ejecting member is prevented from moving from a retracted position to the advanced position, but when the arresting member is moved form the retracted to the advanced position, the ejecting member is allowed to move from the retracted to the advanced position to eject a tape cassette from the tape recorder.

    Abstract: An automatic recording apparatus which is simplified in construction and reduced in number of parts and in overall size without having a bad influence on an automatic recording function thereof. In the apparatus, a stand-by mode selecting operating member manually pushed in to an actuated position is arrested by an arresting member. In the actuated position of the operating member, rotation of a rotary member is stopped and a reel receiver is disconnected from the rotary member. After lapse of a preset time, rotation of the rotary member is started again. Within one full rotation of the rotary member, the arresting member is moved out of arresting engagement with the operating member by a turning force of the rotary member so that the operating member is returned to its home position, thereby allowing the automatic recording apparatus to start a recording operation.

    Abstract: A flywheel suitable for use in a tape recorder or the like is composed of an annular metal plate and a plastic pulley superposed coaxially as a unitary member with the plate. The plate defines a plurality of outwardly-extending notches at an equal angular interval along an inner peripheral edge thereof and the corresponding number of interlocking holes between the respective notches. The pulley is provided with a plurality of holding lugs extending outwardly beyond the inner peripheral edge of the plate and holding an inner peripheral edge portion between the lugs and a main part of the pulley. The main part of the pulley is provided, at at least one of locations opposing to the interlocking lugs, with an elastic interlocking member maintained in engagement with one of the interlocking holes.

    Abstract: In order to mount a body on a base by way of a synthetic resin member, a structure is useful in tightening and fixing the synthetic resin member on the body by means of a screw which can be tightened only to a limited degree, so as to avoid its tightening to the screw head thereof. A planar portion with a screw insertion hole formed therethrough is provided at the screwed part of the synthetic resin member. At least one first land to be brought into contact with the screw head and at least one second land to be brought into contact with the body are provided respectively on both surfaces of the planar portion at different locations as seen in a plan view of the planar portion. An interference which is to occur upon tightening the screw is absorbed through an elastic deformation of the planar portion.

    Abstract: A magnetic tape driving device for a tape recorder or like machines wherein a base plate is partially formed from a synthetic resin material while eliminating possible mechanical and thermal shortcomings which may be resulted from employment of such a synthetic resin part for the base plate. The base plate of the magnetic tape driving device is composed of a metal plate and an overlying synthetic resin plate plate, and a bearing metal member is securely mounted on the synthetic resin plate for supporting a capstan thereon. The bearing metal member extends through an opening formed in the metal plate and is resiliently pressed against a receiving portion by a resilient contacting piece both formed on the metal plate thereby to position the bearing metal member and hence the synthetic resin plate relative to the metal plate.

The guide piece is made of a synthetic resin and mounted on the base plate (or the head holder). The guide groove is cut in the head holder (or the base plate) for receiving the guide piece to thereby restrict the direction in which the head holder moves. The projection is provided on the head holder (or the base plate). The end of the guide piece rides on the projection when the head holder is brought to a position where the magnetic head contacts a magnetic tape, whereby the projection urges the head holder against the base plate.

    Abstract: A tape driving mechanism has a pin projecting from a base plate of a tape recorder, a capstan shaft rotatably mounted on the base plate and a pinch roller holder rotatably mounted on the pin. The mechanism further comprises a pinch roller rotatably mounted on a first end portion of the pinch roller holder opposite to the pin, a torsion coil spring and an urging member. The torsion coil spring is provided on a portion of the pinch roller holder with both ends of the torsion coil spring in engagement with other portions of the pinch roller holder. The urging member urges an end portion of the torsion coil spring to rotate and urge the pinch roller holder to resiliently press the pinch roller against the capstan shaft.
