  • Patent number: 5285263
Abstract: A digital video signal processing device is capable of avoid phase difference of video signals in case of converting the rate of digital video signals. In case of converting the first digital video signal to the second digital video signal, the sync points of the first digital video signal and the second digital video signal can be coincided by coinciding the predetermined numbered clock timings of the first and second clocks with a clock synchronizing device. Since the rate is converted in utilizing a filter having a characteristic to coincide sync points of the first and second digital video signals, sync points of the first digital video signal and the second digital video signal can be coincided, so that the phase difference of video signals can be avoided in advance in either case.

  • Patent number: 5204827
Abstract: A sampling rate converting apparatus is arranged in such a manner that, in a case where the frequency ratio of a first or a second sampling frequency holds a simple integral relationship, its oversampling filters are composed of FIR type digital filters the length of each of which corresponds to the least common multiple of the frequency ratio so that the first or the second sampling frequency of the digital signal is converted into the second or the first sampling frequency.A sampling rate converting apparatus is arranged in such a manner that coefficients to be given to weighting means of oversampling filters are changed by selecting coefficient data of coefficient generating means including a plurality of selectable coefficient data so that, in a case where the frequency ratio of the first or the second sampling frequency does not hold a simple integral relationship, the first or the second sampling frequency of the digital signal can be converted into the second or the first sampling frequency.

  • Patent number: 5159339
Abstract: In a sampling rate converter which converts a sampling frequency of digital signals sampled at a first sampling frequency into a second sampling frequency, output clocks corresponding to the second sampling frequency are counted in a cyclic fashion from an initial value to a maximum value based on periodicity of the first and second sampling frequencies. Coefficient addresses are generated in accordance with the resulting count value and a coefficient correction value which is determined in accordance with the number of counts of the maximum value and the periodicity of the first and second sampling frequencies, the number of counts of the maximum value being the number of times the output clocks are counted to the maximum value. The sampling frequency of digital signals sampled at the first sampling frequency is thus converted into the second sampling frequency with a simple construction of counting to the maximum value in accordance with the periodicity of the sampling frequencies.

  • Patent number: 5068716
Abstract: In a sampling rate converter, an input digital video signal has its sampling rate converted from a first sampling frequency to a second or different sampling frequency by oversampling the input digital video signal at a rate which is an integral multiple of the first sampling frequency so as to generate zero values between data of the input digital video signal, interpolating an output signal from the oversampled input digital video signal, decimating the interpolated output signal for generating therefrom a digital video signal having the desired second sampling frequency, and only then applying the digital video signal having the second sampling frequency to a low pass filter, preferably of the finite impulse response type, for eliminating therefrom an undesirable signal component which is due to the sample rate conversion and which appears between frequency bands of one-half of the first and second sampling frequencies, respectively.

  • Patent number: 5008668
Abstract: In a method and apparatus for encoding and decoding data in the residue number system, input binary data are supplied to an encoder to be divided by moduli m.sub.0, m.sub.1, m.sub.2, . . . m (i.e., positive integers having a mutually prime relation). Residue data corresponding to respective moduli are output from the encoder to a digital filter circuit including a plurality of digital filters, each filter corresponding to a respective modulus. Processing for some specified application is performed by the digital filters based, for example, on the Mixed Radix Conversion Method method to generate output data still in the residue format. The residue data output from the digital filters then are input to a decoder to be converted back into binary data. Encoding is performed by splitting n-bit straight binary data into, for example, upper bit data and lower bit data, received by respective ROM tables. Each ROM table outputs a value to another common ROM table which outputs the converted residue data.

  • Patent number: 4930012
Abstract: A circuit for detecting motion of a color video signal includes serially-connected first and second frame memories for storing the video signal frame-by-frame. First and second difference video signals are produced which respectively correspond to the difference between the input and output signals of the first frame memory and the difference between the input and output signals of the second frame memory, whereupon first and second absolute values are generated in response to the first and second difference video signals, respectively. Such first and second absolute values are employed for detecting first and second correlation patterns of the first and second difference video signals, respectively, and then motion of the video signal is discriminated on the basis of the detected correlation patterns.
