  • Patent number: 5715804
Abstract: A plurality of first strands are bundled with a plurality of second strands for forming a string used in a bow, and the first strand and the second strand are respectively made from filaments of polyethylene resin and filaments of polyparabenzamide resin or polybenzobisoxazole resin so as to mutually compensate drawbacks of these resins.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 23, 1996
Date of Patent: February 10, 1998
    Assignee: Yamaha Corporation
    Inventor: Tadao Izuta
  • Patent number: 5609146
Abstract: A western style bow including a handle and two limbs mounted to both ends of the handle. A string groove of substantially a V-shaped cross-section is formed at the end of each one of the limbs for accommodating the bowstring. Each groove is deeper at one end than at another end and is wider at one end than at another end so that the bowstring is smoothly guided into the bottom portions of the string grooves after being released.

  • Patent number: 4936283
Abstract: In an archery stabilizer in which the proximal end of a swing rod carrying a damper head is held by a damper unit for detachable mounting to an archery bow, the proximal end of the swing rod is totally embraced by an elastic piece and a bearing in the damper unit so that the swing rod may undergo elastic deformation upon the release of an arrow from the bow. By totally embracing the proximal end of the swing rod, the damper unit enhances the damping ability of the stabilizer without necessitating an increase the size and weight of the stabilizer.

  • Patent number: 4702067
Abstract: An archery string is produced of polyethylene monofilaments of a super high molecular weight by multi-staged bundling and twisting in order to lower the elongation percentage, thereby assuring high hitting rate in shooting and better endurance.

  • Patent number: 4674468
Abstract: In a joint structure between each limb and a handle riser of a knock-down type archery bow employing a plug-socket engagement, a two position support is formed by a pair of separate supporter pieces fixed to the face side of the socket, one supporter piece located closer to the socket mouth forming the first support for enabling change in angular position of the limb with respect to the handle riser, and the other supporter piece located closer to the socket bottom forming the second support unmoved by any change in the first support. The absence of holes in the socket walls assures a strong construction without the increase in weight, and the adjustment by the first support causes no disturbance on the originally designed balance of force over the entire construction.

  • Patent number: 4574766
Abstract: A joint structure between each limb and a handle riser of a take-down type archery bow is described employing a plug-socket engagement based upon a two position support. The first position support is located near the mouth of a handle riser socket and enables the change in angular position of the limbs with respect to the handle riser by the replacement of a pair of flat spacers of predetermined thickness. The second position support, being unaffected by the first position support, is located near the bottom of the socket for releasably engaging the plug end of the limbs in order to prevent accidental removal of the limbs from the handle riser socket.

  • Patent number: 4556042
Abstract: A stabilizer to be attached to the handle raiser of an archery bow is disclosed. The stabilizer includes a pair of laterally extending arms constructed and arranged to be flexible in the shooting direction. Flexing of the arms is mechanically restricted in the shooting direction by the use of a rigid backing overlying a portion of each arm. By mechanically restricting the flexing of the arms, the inertia created is maximized for pushing the archery bow towards the target at release of an arrow.

  • Patent number: 4378780
Abstract: Arrow rest for archery bow is disclosed. The arrow rest is supported at a position remote from the sight window defining wall of the bow and extends obliquely towards the back of the bow with the free end thereof being located close to the sight window defining wall. Bias of the arrow from the correct advancing course at release is effectively restrained and resistance of the arrow rest acting on the arrow at release is greatly minimized, thereby assuring stable and smooth release of the arrow.

  • Patent number: 3942506
Abstract: A demountable archery bow with a handle provided at the opposite ends thereof with limb receiving means, and limbs to be removably inserted in the respective limb receiving means. A click stop mechanism is provided between each limb receiving means and the associated limb to facilitate the assembly and disassembly of the handle and limbs. The click stop mechanism may have a recess formed on the limb side in a manner to open in a direction perpendicular to that in which the limb is inserted in the limb receiving means, and a spring biased ball provided on the handle side, the ball being received in the recess under the spring biasing force when the limb is inserted in the handle and the ball being forcedly removable from the recess when a force pulling the limb away from the handle is exerted on the limb.
