  • Patent number: 5717611
Abstract: A slight motion detecting device includes a angular velocity sensor, a low pass filter, a high pass filter, an amplifier, and a CPU. The CPU differentiates an output from the angular velocity sensor so as to obtain an angular acceleration, and determines that a peak of the acceleration is obtained at the time at which the sign of the acceleration is changed, and further, calculates a zero level detection value of the angular velocity, from the peak, thereby the output of the angular velocity sensor is corrected in accordance with the zero level detection value.

  • Patent number: 5715479
Abstract: A blur prevention device is equipped with first and second drive units which can move a blur prevention lens in a plane orthogonal to an optical axis of a main optical system. First and second transfer units transfer the amount of movement of the drive units to the blur prevention lens and first and second transfer receiving units receive the amount of movement in the respective directions from the respective transfer units. Each of the transfer receiving units can move relative to the one transfer unit other than the respective transfer unit. The blur prevention device has a specified direction for one of the transfer units and allows a degree of freedom outside the movement in the specified direction to the other transfer unit. Restriction gears, which are part of the drive units, restrict the amount of movement of the blur prevention lens in the plane orthogonal to the optical axis.

  • Patent number: 5678070
Abstract: An apparatus such as a camera, etc. incorporates at least first and second ultrasonic wave actuators driven at predetermined frequencies for driving the apparatus. The first and second ultrasonic wave actuators are drive-controlled at different frequencies by first and second actuator drive portions controlled by an apparatus control portion. The first and second ultrasonic wave actuators are constructed to satisfy a relationship such as .vertline.f1-f2.vertline.>4000, where f1 (Hz) is the drive frequency of the first ultrasonic wave actuator, and f2 (Hz) is the drive frequency of the second ultrasonic wave actuator. Prevented thus are drawbacks caused when simultaneously driving the plurality of ultrasonic wave actuators for driving the apparatus, i.e., a resonance in an apparatus structural body and a resultant "beat" phenomenon.

  • Patent number: 5655158
Abstract: A blurring motion detection device and method to determine an improved blurring motion zero reference value. The device includes a storage unit to store averaged blurring motion data based on an average of successive blurring motion data, with new blurring motion data being more recent in time than old blurring motion data. A selection unit filters out anomalous blurring motion data by selecting the blurring motion data within a deviation range from an average of the stored blurring motion data. The deviation range may include a first deviation range for the old blurring data which is set to be smaller than a second deviation range for the new blurring motion data. The deviation range may also be defined by a decision function which gradually widens the deviation range for the new blurring motion data. A calculation unit calculates the blurring motion zero reference value based on the blurring motion data within the deviation range.

  • Patent number: 5619735
Abstract: With a simple structure, a reliable driving control is obtained for a corrective optical system for correcting an image deviation resulting from unsteady motions caused by a manual holding of an apparatus.A corrective optical system for correcting an image deviation is movably supported in a plane perpendicular to the optical axis. There are provided a drive for driving this system and a movable member operated by this drive to provide a corrective motion accompanying a rotational component when it is driven. There are also provided a detector fixed to this movable member for detecting its angle variations with respect to the inertial system as well as means for controlling the operation of the drive. The shifting amount D' of the corrective optical system for correcting an image deviation d (=f.multidot..theta.) at a variation angle .theta. of the optical axis of the optical system having a focal length f is D'=D/A (where A=a proportional coefficient and D=an image shifting amount).

  • Patent number: 5617159
Abstract: An image blur suppression device suitable for a camera which compensates for low frequency camera motion without increasing the length of the camera in the optical axis direction and without posing limitation on the design of the camera. The image blur suppression device compensates for image blur by damping vibrations of a camera body to a compensation optical system using the inertia of a balance member. An oscillation mechanism unit is equipped with a first rotation member, one end of which is supported by the camera body so that it can rotate freely and the other end of which is fitted with the compensation optical system. A second rotation member is supported by the camera body so that it can rotate freely. The second rotation member has one end fitted to the first rotation member and the balance member attached to the other end.

  • Patent number: 5592251
Abstract: A camera having an image deflection prevention function and which shortens the time from depression of a release button to the commencement of an exposure action while sufficiently maintaining an image deflection correction stroke during the exposure. After a full-depression operation of the release button, a camera CPU determines a drive position and drive direction of a blurring correction optical system based on an output from a correction optical system position sensor. When the drive direction of the blurring correction optical system is toward the center of its drive range, an exposure action is commenced. When the drive direction is away from the center of the drive range, an exposure action is inhibited.
