  • Patent number: 5804924
Abstract: A discharge lamp lighting device includes first voltage source of a high voltage capable of increasing lamp current, the voltage value of which being sequentially variable, and second voltage source of a low voltage capable of decreasing the lamp current, the voltage value of which being sequentially variable, lighting connection of the first and second voltages sources to a discharge lamp being alternately changed over for its stable lighting, whereby the stable lighting of the lamp can be made with any current limiting element minimized and a response to variation in outputs over a wide range as well as any radiant noise can be effectively improved.

  • Patent number: 5013975
Abstract: An electrodeless discharge lamp includes a lamp tube coated on inner surface with a fluorescent material and filled with mercury vapor and a rare gas where the gas provides an excitation luminescence of the same series of color as luminous color of the fluorescent material. The gas and vapor in the tube effectively maintain the luminescence of the lamp over a wide ambient temperature range where the rare gas provides luminescence of a selected color at lower temperatures and the mercury vapor and fluorescent material provide luminescence of the same color in the middle and higher temperature ranges.

  • Patent number: 4996465
Abstract: A variable color lighting device employs two gases having different ionization potentials and sealed in a lamp tube. A cathode and anode are disposed inside the lamp tube opposed to each other and connected to a power supply source for varying applied voltages thereto to vary light emitting ratio of the two gases for different color light generation, in accordance with the applied voltages. A variable color lighting can be realized at relatively low voltages with a simple and economical control circuit, and an increased light emission output can be attained to render the device utilizable as a main lighting source.

  • Patent number: 4780645
Abstract: An electronic light radiation tube wherein a cathode and an anode disposed as spaced from each other by a small spacing are housed in an envelope enclosing therein a luminous gas, and a magnetic field is applied to the envelope so as to cause magnetic lines of force of the magnetic field to pass through the envelope, while the magnetic lines of force which have passed through the cathode are prevented from passing through the anode, whereby electrons emitted from the cathode are caused to collide at a high efficiency with the luminous gas throughout the entire interior space of the envelope to excite the gas, and highly uniform light radiation can be realized over the entire envelope.
