  • Patent number: 4866636
Abstract: A data transmitting system uniformly processes and transmits data by taking a plurality of samples of an analog signal and generating bits forming digital words respectively corresponding to the samples, the number of bits representing each sample being switchable between a plurality of values M and N. First input data is supplied in first words of which each consists of M bits and second input data is supplied occurring in second words of which each consists of N bits. An a-th first word in each M-bit first input data is defined as W.sub.a. The first input data is divided into k kinds of sets of (W.sub.nk+1), (W.sub.nk+2), . . . , (W.sub.nk+k), where n is an arbitrary integer. A b-th word in each N-bit second input data is defined as W.sub.b. The second input data is divided into k kinds of sets of (W'.sub.nk+1), (W'.sub.nk+2), . . . , (W'.sub.nk+k), the number of bits of the first words of the set of (W.sub.

  • Patent number: 4862297
Abstract: A reproducing apparatus for reproducing blocks from a recording medium on which a plurality of signal blocks are recorded on plural recording tracks, uses a rotary head which is rotated at a speed equal to at least twice the normal speed. Error detection of a reproduced signal is performed for each signal block, and a detection signal and a reproduced signal of the corresponding signal block are written into a memory. If the detection signal indicates that no error is detected, the reproduced signal from the corresponding signal block is prevented from being written again into the memory. A reproduced track address signal and a reference track address signal are compared, and in accordance with the comparison result, translation of the recording medium is controlled.

  • Patent number: 4837640
Abstract: The present invention is concerned with a method and apparatus for detecting control signals recorded on a continuous recording area on the recording medium at an elevated speed. When k out of n past read-out control signals have been read correctly as being the prescribed control signal, the signal is concluded to be the prescribed control signal. It is possible in this manner to read out the control signals accurately even when the error rate is high, as during high speed searching.

  • Patent number: 4812924
Abstract: A rotary head type digital tape recorder in which a PCM signal and sub data for control and the like concerned with the PCM signal are recorded and/or reproduced by rotary heads. The invention relates to a method and apparatus for transmitting and/or receiving a digital signal in such a type of digital tape recorder by using a data format such that when the serial data is input and output each of a predetermined number of words of the reproduced PCM signal and each symbol of the reproduced sub data are transmitted as a pair synchronously with the rotation of the rotary heads. Thus, a large amount of sub data can be input and output together with the PCM signal.

  • Patent number: 4802172
Abstract: A decoding apparatus in which the operation to write error correction coded data into a memory and a decoding processing operation of the data read out of the memory are executed in parallel. This decoding apparatus comprises: a comparator for comparing the address to write the data into the memory with the address in the memory for the decoding processing operation; and control means for inhibiting the writing operation when it is detected by the comparator that the decoding processing operation is precedent to the writing operation. With this apparatus, the data which was subjected to the correcting process is prevented from being rewritten into the memory and the pointer derived by the decoding process from being broken.

  • Patent number: 4799221
Abstract: The invention relates to a digital signal reproducing apparatus to which continuous blocks of input data are supplied, each block consisting of a PCM signal which was error correction coded and additional codes which were subjected to error detection or error correction coding processes. The error pointers are set independently of the result of the error correction of the PCM signal on the basis of the decoding state of the decoder for decoding the additional codes using the error detection code or error correction code.

  • Patent number: 4688225
Abstract: A method for uniformly encoding data occurring in words of different lengths redefines the words into units or sets having a length determined by the possible lengths of the words, but independent of the particular length of the words operated on. A first method according to the present invention forms the words into an array having two directions of adjacent words defined therein, and groups the adjacent words into units having a length equal to an integer times a least common multiple of the possible word lengths. A second method according to the present invention groups words of input data into respective sets such that the number of bits in a set of words of a first length equals the number of bits in a set of words of a second length.

  • Patent number: 4630272
Abstract: An encoding method for error correction of digital information data is provided. The encoding method comprises the steps of arranging the digital information data in a plurality of blocks each including a plurality of symbols, and generating first redundacy data from first respective groups of digital information data constituting symbols which exist in at least two blocks in a first direction. Second redundancy data is generated from second respective groups of digital information data constituting symbols which are included in the plurality of blocks in a second direction. First code sequences are formed for first error detection from the first digital information data groups and the first redundancy data, and second code sequences are formed for second error detection from the second digital information data group and the second redundancy code.

  • Patent number: 4604540
Abstract: A rotor winding of air-core disc shape is formed by winding an insulation-coated conductor so as to enclose a yoke of disc shape with only minor gaps at the outside of the yoke. The conductor of this rotor winding extends in the radial direction through the vicinity of the center, and is continuously wound, the turns being successively shifted in the tangential direction. The rotor is composed of the rotor winding, a rotor shaft fixed on this center, and a commutator. A permanent magnet is provided in such a position as opposes the yoke through the plane of the rotor winding of air-core disc shape. This magnet has at least a pair of magnet poles distributed to the opposite position against the rotor shaft, and each magnet pole supplies reverse magnet flux to the opposing yoke. The yoke, the magnet, and a brush contacted the commutator are mounted on the motor case, and the rotor is supported to the motor case so as to be rotated freely.

  • Patent number: 4604657
Abstract: A PCM signal processing apparatus provides compensation processing so that no pulse noise (abnormal sound) is generated by the reproduction of erroneous data (e.g., unerased data) that has not been recognized as an error by an error detecting code added to the data. The format of the transmission data processed by the apparatus is such that one block of data is constituted by a plurality of PCM data items, and one segment of data is constituted by a plurality of blocks, each block being provided with a data error detecting code (CRC) and a segment address (S-ADR) to which the block belongs. A detection circuit (15) is provided which detects whether or not the segment addresses of reproduced data within each block within one segment are the same.
