  • Publication number: 20080271556
Abstract: A rotation drive unit having a first reduction mechanism of traction transmission system comprising a drive roller attached to a drive shaft and a driven roller attached to a driven shaft, and a second reduction mechanism of gear transmission system comprising a drive gear attached to the drive shaft and a driven gear attached to the driven shaft. The first reduction mechanism generates a braking effort while making slippage between the rollers during transmission of a rotational driving force from the drive shaft, and exerts a torque load on the second reduction mechanism of the gear transmission system. Since this unit transmits the rotational driving force via the first reduction mechanism while exerting the load upon the second reduction mechanism, it provides a satisfactory and reliable speed-reducing function as well as reliable and accurate transmission of the rotational driving force even if equipped with a plurality of driven shafts coupled to the single drive shaft.

  • Patent number: 7389999
Abstract: A suspension element is disposed inside of a rim. The upper end of the suspension element is connected to a first support member mounted to a vehicle body. The lower end of the suspension element is connected to a second support member rotatably connected to the disk on the wheel. The shock and vibration from the wheel in the vertical direction are damped and absorbed by the suspension element. Also, a spring mechanism and a flat bearing are disposed in the wheel. The spring mechanism is disposed between a rotating member rotatably supported on the vehicle body and the rim of the wheel. If the rotating member is fixed to a brake drum, braking torque is transmitted to the wheel through the spring mechanism. The flat bearing is disposed between the rim and the rotating member and prohibits the axial movement of the wheel relative to the vehicle body.

  • Publication number: 20070057481
Abstract: [Problems]To provide a wheel assembly allowing the elimination of an installation space for suspension element on the outside of a wheel and capable of satisfactorily damping and absorbing shock and vibration in the vertical direction. [Means for Solving Problems] Suspension element (70) is disposed, in a generally raised state, inside of a rim (11). The upper end of the suspension element (70) is connected to a first support member (50) mounted to a vehicle body. The lower end of the suspension element (70) is connected to a second support member (60) rotatably connected to the disk (12) on the wheel (10). The shock and vibration from the wheel (10) in the vertical direction are damped and absorbed by the suspension element (70). Also, a spring mechanism (30) and a flat bearing (40) are disposed in the wheel (10). The spring mechanism (30) is disposed between a rotating member (20) rotatably supported on the vehicle body and the rim (11) of the wheel (10).

  • Patent number: 6439282
Abstract: A wheel with a damper for an automobile includes a rim, a disk, and a damper. The damper includes a rubber member. The rubber member includes a first portion and a second portion. The first portion performs mainly an elastic shear deflection and the second portion acts as a stopper. The first portion extends in an axial direction of the wheel and has an inside surface and an outside surface which contact a space and are not constrained. The end surfaces of the first portion extend perpendicularly to the axial direction of the wheel. A vibrational system having a spring of the first portion of the rubber member and a mass of an automobile is designed so as to have a first natural frequency in a range of 6-12 H, preferably, in a range of 8-10 Hz.

  • Patent number: 4861113
Abstract: A full face type cast wheel, wherein a rim portion holding a tire and a disk portion connected to the rim portion are integrally cast, includes a side wall portion extending from a dropped portion of the rim portion to a bead seat portion of the rim portion and a plurality of recessed portions defined intermittently in the circumferential direction of the wheel on a surface of the side wall portion facing the inside of the tire. By formation of the recessed portions, the weight of the wheel can be decreased, generation of blowholes in a casting process can be prevented and air capacity of the tire can be increased.
