  • Patent number: 4410541
Abstract: A composite has an effect of improving lipid metabolism. The effective component of the composite is monoiodohistidine. Monoiodohistidine may be obtained by a biological process, which comprises adding an iodine compound and/or a seaweed to a feed for egg-laying birds, and feeding the feed to the egg-laying birds so that eggs of the birds contains a high amount of monoiodohistidine.

  • Patent number: 4400091
Abstract: A timepiece has a second hand, a minute hand and an hour hand which are rotationally driven by a gear train under control of an electromechanical transducer. The transducer has a plastic coil frame on which is wound a coil and electric drive signals are applied to the coil in response to which the transducer produces a rotational output for driving the gear train. A hand stopping device is formed integrally with the coil frame and functions to temporarily stop the rotational movement of the gear train to thereby enable setting or correction of the position of the second hand.

  • Patent number: 4394376
Abstract: A preventive composite for hyperlipemia. An iodine-enriched egg is used as the effective component of the preventive composite. The egg contains 300 to 4,000 .mu.g of iodine. The egg is obtained by feeding a high amount of an iodine compound and/or a seaweed to egg-laying birds so as to transfer the iodine contained therein to eggs of them.

  • Patent number: 4376994
Abstract: The cam type time detecting mechanism of an alarm clock has a time gear wheel, an alarm gear wheel and a detecting plate, all mounted on a shaft. A hole is formed on either the alarm gear wheel or the detecting plate and a projection is formed on the other. The detecting plate is movable on the shaft in the axial direction of the shaft. The time gear wheel and the detecting plate have guiding parts respectively so that the time gear wheel, in its normal rotation, continuously pushes and turns the detecting plate. At least one of the time gear wheel, the alarm gear wheel and the detecting plate has a cam for lifting up the detecting plate if the time gear wheel and the alarm gear wheel turn either in normal and reverse directions.

  • Patent number: 4371267
Abstract: In the time detecting device of an alarm clock is provided with an hour gear wheel and an alarm gear wheel, each having an indication hand, engaging with a second hour gear wheel and a second alarm gear wheel respectively. An detecting cam plate is provided so as to be axially shiftable and continuously pushed and turned by the second hour gear wheel. A projection is formed on either the second alarm gear wheel or the detecting cam plate while a hole is formed on the other. When the respective phases of the projection and the hole coincide, the detecting cam plate is allowed to shift to actuate the alarm device.

  • Patent number: 4338304
Abstract: A composite used for treating diabetes. The effective component of the composite is an egg containing much iodine. The egg is obtained by feeding to egg-laying birds a feed into which an iodine compound and/or a seaweed are mixed.

  • Patent number: 4197436
Abstract: A timer mechanism for a clock which has a manually settable rotatable timer drum. A pair of complementarily arranged semicircular contacts which are electrically insulated from each other are adapted to actuate the timer when electrically connected to each other. Two contact fingers are provided which are urged into contact with the respective semicircular stationary contacts. A timer cam between the timer drum and a projecting lug associated with one of the contact fingers for prevention thereof from contacting one of the semicircular contacts and thereby render the timer inoperative. A flange with a cutout is provided on the timer cam which permits the one of the contact fingers to contact the semicircular stationary contact and thereby actuate the timer.

  • Patent number: 4187294
Abstract: A method for producing eggs that contain a high amount (i.e., 7 ppm and over) of iodinated amino acids. Iodinated amino acids are transferred to eggs from live birds such as chickens, ducks and other poultry that are regularly fed with a specially prepared feed containing more than 230 mg. of calcium iodate per kg. of feed. Said eggs are effective in preventing and curing hypercholesteremia.
