  • Patent number: 9158146
Abstract: A projector can be easily attached by mounting a connecting unit to a socket for illumination in an ordinary home. Since the projector includes a communication unit configured to receive an electronic mail, the projector updates an image signal and adjusts a diffusion degree of modulated light by a light-diffusion adjusting unit on the basis of contents of the mail received by the communication unit. Therefore, when a user desires to inform family members who will return home that the user suddenly has to go out, if the user transmits in advance, to the projector, a mail including a message for a family member who returns home, the family member who returns home turns on an illumination switch at the entrance, whereby the projector can start up, perform an illuminating function, and clearly project and display the message.

  • Publication number: 20150279307
Abstract: A display device that can be used with another display device, includes: a display unit; a command receiving unit which receives a control command or ID information from an external remote controller; and a command processing unit. The display unit displays the display device's own ID in response to reception of the control command by the command receiving unit. If the command receiving unit receives the ID information indicating the display device's own ID after the display unit starts displaying the display device's own ID, the command processing unit performs processing corresponding to the control command.

  • Publication number: 20140139811
Abstract: A projector includes a power receiving terminal, a light source that emits light based on electric power supplied to the power receiving terminal, a light diffuser that adjusts the degree of diffusion of the light from the light source, a specifying section that alternately specifies one of illumination projection and image projection every time electric power supply to the power receiving terminal is started, and a light diffusion controller that controls the light diffuser so that when the specifying section specifies the illumination projection, the light diffuser diffuses the light from the light source, whereas when the specifying section specifies the image projection, the light diffuser transmits the light without substantially diffusing the light.

  • Publication number: 20030074448
Abstract: A request for transition from a process controlled by HTTP protocol to a special process controlled by a protocol different from the HTTP protocol is made by a URL as command transfer means. When the URL is input via an information terminal to a server, a client agent is started on the information terminal side, and an agent service section is started on the sever side. The client agent and the agent service section carry out the special process, such as an authentication process, while bi-directionally transmitting and receiving data to and from each other. A service manager controls the special process such that transition to another process, such as a channel-switching process, is inhibited during execution of the authentication process by the client agent and the agent service section.

  • Patent number: 6208976
Abstract: An order management system enables a customer to use a terminal device to order food, but can respond rapidly to changes and additions to the menu. When this system starts up, it transmits an operating program and image data from main management equipment to each of a number of order-taking terminal devices. Each order-taking terminal device stores the thus received operating program and image data and displays a menu screen on a display screen on the basis of the thus stored operating program and image data.
