  • Publication number: 20050163006
Abstract: In a recording medium reproducing apparatus, a storage means in which reproduction limit information is stored is a rewritable non-volatile memory, and the recording medium reproducing apparatus includes a control unit which reads reproduction limit information from the non-volatile memory and compares this reproduction limit information with reproduction limit information recorded on a recording medium. Then, the reproduction limit information can be set under the condition that the reproduction limit information has not yet been set in the non-volatile memory. Broadcasting format information is stored in the non-volatile memory, and the control unit reads the broadcasting format information from the non-volatile memory and performs control in accordance with the broadcasting format indicated by the broadcasting format information.

  • Patent number: 4622381
Abstract: A fiber composed of a polyester having at least a part of terminals blocked with the residue of at least one specific metal sulfonate compound, where the amount of the blocked terminals is 1.3 to 4.0 mol % based on the dicarboxylic acid component of the polyester and the alkali dissolution speed constant is 3.3.times.10.sup.-9 to 6.5.times.10.sup.-9 cm/sec. This polyester has a good dyeability with a cationic dye and is excellent in the heat resistance and alkali resistance. The polyester fiber can be spun at a high speed or super high speed and can be false-twisted at a high temperature.

  • Patent number: 4619987
Abstract: A process for preparing a high-molecular weight polyester comprising additionally polymerizing a polyester obtained from a dicarboxylic acid component composed mainly of an aromatic dicarboxylic acid and/or an ester-forming derivative thereof and a glycol component composed mainly of ethylene glycol and/or an ester-forming derivative thereof and having an intrinsic viscosity of at least 0.8, at a temperature above the melting point of the polyester and under a reduced pressure, in the presence of a compound (A) successively generating a substance which is gaseous under the polymerization conditions and does not substantially reduce the molecular weight of the polyester, to form a polyester having an intrinsic viscosity of at least 1.0.

  • Patent number: 4538079
Abstract: The present invention relates to a flywheel device comprised of a plurality of flywheel discs axially stacked one upon the other and interconnected by a plurality of tightening bolts. The flywheel discs act as a flywheel in their entirety and are connected to an intermediate shaft. The tightening bolts are passed through the periphery of the stacked up discs. According to the invention, an adjustment disc is introduced between the intermediate shaft and the stacked up discs and is subjected to a facing operation so that a connecting surface of the adjustment disc with the intermediate shaft compensates for any deviation caused by an accumulated dimensional error of the stacked up discs.

  • Patent number: 4450097
Abstract: The invention provides a novel antioxidant obtained from rosemary and suitable for preventing oxidation of various organic materials or, in particular, oleaginous foodstuffs. The antioxidant is prepared by extracting rosemary with a non-polar organic solvent and further extracting the thus extracted material with an aqueous alkaline solution having a pH of at least 10.5 as a weakly acidic fraction soluble in such a strongly alkaline solution. The extraction with the non-polar organic solvent is preferably preceded or followed by steam distillation in order to remove any spicy volatile materials undesirable when the antioxidant is added to foodstuffs or the like. Column chromatographic separation of the above obtained weakly acidic fraction into components gives a novel compound 7.beta.,11,12-trihydroxy-6,10-(epoxymethano)abieta-8,11,13-trien-20-one as the effective ingredient of the antioxidant prepared from rosemary. Characterization of the above novel compound is given.
