  • Patent number: 7376973
Abstract: The present invention relates to an information processing apparatus that allows separately forming regions having different roles. When an area definition region #0100h is newly formed under an area definition region #0000h that is formed on an IC card, information of the area definition region #0100h is encrypted using a service key stored in an area registration service definition region #0020h that is formed in advance, and the encrypted information is supplied to the IC card. Upon receiving that information, the IC card decrypts the encrypted information using the service key stored in the area registration service definition region #0020h. Then, the area definition region #0100h is formed based on the result of decryption. The present invention may be applied to an IC card that exchanges information in a non-contact manner and to an apparatus that exchanges data with the IC card.

  • Publication number: 20070268986
Abstract: In a communication method such as IEEE 802.11a that uses a short training sequence, a wireless receiver must complete AGC, synchronization establishment and the like in the short training sequence period, and perform AFC is the remaining short training sequence period. With the present invention, a wireless transmitter varies the length of the training sequence in accordance with a factor such as a communication frame or a transmission destination. For instance, when a transmission rate is greater than a predetermined threshold value, a training sequence that includes a greater number of training symbols than a predetermined number is transmitted. The wireless receiver is able to allocate the training sequence that is longer than normal to AGC, synchronization establishment and the like, and therefore high performance communication can be realized.

  • Patent number: 7209706
Abstract: A communication apparatus and a communication method prevent responses from being simultaneously received from two or more communicating parties. A first NFC apparatus transmits data for requesting IDs, and acquires IDs sent from second and third NFC apparatuses in reply to the request. After acquiring the IDs of the second and third NFC apparatuses, the first NFC apparatus transmits data that includes their IDs as the data for the second and third NFC apparatuses. If the first NFC apparatus cannot properly acquire the IDs of the second and third NFC apparatuses, then it sends the data for requesting their IDs again. Upon receipt of the request for the IDs, the second and third NFC apparatuses generate their own IDs by using random numbers and send the generated IDs. If the second and third NFC apparatuses receive the request for their IDs again, then they re-generate their own IDs by using random numbers, and send the re-generated IDs again.

  • Publication number: 20070079144
Abstract: An IC card issuer issues an IC card and requests a card memory area operator to lend part of a memory area of the IC card to another card memory area user. The card memory area operator provides a memory area division apparatus and various data to the memory area division apparatus under the control of an operator communication apparatus 12. The card memory area user divides the memory area of the IC card into a memory area to be used by the IC card issuer and a memory area to be used by the card memory area user. The operation file registration apparatus writes file data for the card memory area user to the memory area of the card memory area user obtained by the above division.
