  • Publication number: 20020097275
Abstract: In order to enable a user to obtain information about a large number of recorded images, a display apparatus includes a browser window that can be switched between two modes. In the first mode, a first screen, referred to as an Icon Browser Screen, displays a list of files (that contain image data and/or additional data such as sound data and overlay image data) that are recorded in a recording apparatus such as, e.g., an electronic camera. In the second mode, a second screen, referred to as a Thumbnail Image Browser Screen, displays a series of thumbnail images of the images recorded in the recording apparatus. A thumbnail check box can be selected to switch between the two screens.

  • Publication number: 20020045837
Abstract: A plurality of electrodes for measuring electrocardiogarphic waveforms are attached on body surface positions that constitute a subset of the standard 12-lead system. The measured electrocardiogarphic waveforms of said subset of said standard 12-lead system are used to calculate the electrocardiogarphic waveforms of remaining leads in the said standard 12-lead system. The measured and calculated electrocardiographic waveforms are synthesized to form a standard 12-lead electrocardiogram. The invention is capable of monitoring the 12-lead electrocardiogram with reduced number of electrodes, wherein a portion of waveforms are directly measured and used as primary information for diagnosing heart disease, and the other portion of waveforms are derived from the measured leads and are used as a secondary information for improving the accuracy of diagnosis.

  • Publication number: 20020024603
Abstract: An image processing control apparatus and method accepts image data and overlay (memo) data stored in memory of an electronic device, such as, for example, an electronic camera, and supplies them to a composing part. In the composing part a composite image of the image data and the overlay data is created. The transmissivity or other composition ratios of the image data and overlay data can be adjusted. The composite image is supplied to memory and is stored in a given area. The resulting composite image is supplied to VRAM, and may be displayed on a display apparatus. A recording medium can store a control program for use by the image processing apparatus to perform the method.

  • Patent number: 6269357
Abstract: To shorten the time required to transfer image data from a first information processing apparatus (e.g., an electronic camera) to a second information processing apparatus (e.g., a personal computer) the first information processing apparatus reduces the image data when it is determined that a slow interface is being used. Additionally, the reduced image data being transferred can be altered in size (enlarged or further reduced) prior to compression so that its size is best suited for the particular compression process.

  • Patent number: 5782998
Abstract: In order to provide a very low iron loss, it is necessary to render the surface of a steel sheet smooth (specular). In the present invention, this is effected in a finish annealing furnace to simultaneously attain a high magnetic flux density and a specular surface. Specifically, after the completion of decarburization annealing, a steel material is pickled to remove an oxide layer present on the surface of the steel sheet, coated with an annealing separator comprising a substance nonreactive or less reactive with SiO.sub.2 and then subjected to finish annealing to provide a grain oriented electrical steel sheet having a specular surface. Magnetic domain division and tension coating of the steel sheet can provide a low iron loss value. In the finish annealing, since no time is required for dehydration, the annealing time can be shortened.

  • Patent number: 5459621
Abstract: Method and apparatus for recording a plurality of audio channels on segmented tracks of a tape by rotary heads. The audio channels to be recorded are allocated to recording sectors provided for the individual audio channels on the basis of the relation between the number of the audio channels and the number of the segmented tracks, so that each recording track necessarily includes the individual audio channel recording sectors uniformly distributed in the longitudinal direction of the tape, and the two-dimensional distance between the sectors on which the same audio channel is recorded can be maximized on the tape. Thus, an adverse effect of an error attributable to a dropout and/or a scar formed on the tape can be dispersed, thereby achieving high capability for error correction.
