  • Patent number: 5499791
Abstract: A machine with vibration source includes a frame for carrying a vibration source such as a motor. A housing is attached to a bottom of the frame, in which a sphere made of a rigid material is housed rotation free in a manner that a portion of the sphere is projected from an opening at the bottom of the housing. The surface of a plate made of a rigid material contacts the portion of the sphere projecting from the housing and the plate is surrounded by a member of an elastic material. The elastic member has an upwardly extending portion which surrounds the housing, and therefore, the elastic member controls the relative position between the sphere and the plate, and resultingly, rolling of the machine can be suppressed. In addition, since the sphere can be rotated on the plate, horizontal vibration of the machine is absorbed to be suppressed. Furthermore, since the sphere is supported by the plate and the plate is supported by a floor via the elastic member, vertical vibration of the machine is also suppressed.

  • Patent number: 5267456
Abstract: A drum-type washing machine includes a horizontal shaft type drum which is rotatably supported by a supporting shaft within a frame and rotated by a motor, and a reduction mechanism transmits a rotation of a rotation shaft of the motor to a rotation shaft of the drum. The reduction mechanism includes a small pulley with gear secured to the rotation shaft of the motor, an intermediate large pulley, a V belt wound on the small pulley with gear and the intermediate large pulley, an intermediate small pulley secured to the intermediate large pulley to be rotated together with the intermediate large pulley, a large pulley secured to the rotation shaft of the drum, and a V belt wound on the intermediate small pulley and the large pulley. In the vicinity of the small pulley with gear, a claw which is normally biased toward a direction that the same is kept away from the gear is arranged. A solenoid or a torque motor engages the claw with a root of the gear against the spring when the drum is to be locked.

  • Patent number: 5115651
Abstract: A drum-type washing machine includes a resin drum which is rotatably supported in a frame by a horizontal shaft. The resin drum includes a body portion molded out of a synthetic resin, and an end surface formed at one end of the body portion, the other end being open. A fluid balancer positioned at the open end of the body portion includes a hollow annular member and a predetermined amount of saltwater sealed therein. The drum diameter is increased from the one end to the other end by utilizing a taper or slope from a plastic molding process. Therefore, the wash in the drum, in operation, moves to the vicinity of the fluid balancer at the other end of the drum along the slope of the inner surface of the drum, thereby to produce a maximum balancing effect of the fluid balancer.

  • Patent number: 5038586
Abstract: A washing machine comprises a drum rotating device, a water supplying device, a draining device, a sensing device for sensing excessive foam generated beyond a permissible amount in an outer tub of the washing machine in the washing operation, and a control device for controlling the drum rotating device, the water supplying device and the draining device. In this washing machine, the sensing device would sense the abnormal foaming in the washing operation and inputs a foam sensing signal to the control device. Then, the control device forces the water supplying device to supply water in the tub and/or the draining device to drain the tub so as to settle the abnormal foaming.

  • Patent number: 4734949
Abstract: A washing machine having a water store tank comprising a washing tank also serving as a water extraction tank, a water transfer means for tranferring water from the washing tank to the water store tank or from the water store tank to the washing tank, and adapted to preform washing by a step of carrying out at least one cycle of operation of soaking washing products for a predetermined of time in the washing tank, thereafter, transferring water once to the water store tank and then returning water to the washing tank again by means of water transfer means, a step of transferring water to the water store tank and, thereafter, rotating the washing tank to perform water extraction in the above step and a step of soaking the washing products for a predetermined of time after the completion of the above step, followed by draining.
