  • Patent number: 4785508
Abstract: Even though a female member is sewed on a suit material of clothes with any surface thereof directing upward, a function proper to the female member can be exhibited by the female member comprising a central ring-shaped portion provided with a through hole with which a projecting portion of a male member is detachably engageable, four projecting pieces radially projecting outward from said central ring-shaped portion and an outside ring-shaped portion for connecting said projecting pieces to each other at a pointed end thereof integrally formed of resinous material, adapting to sew said projecting piece on a suit material of clothes, forming a radial slit communicating with said through hole in said central ring-shaped portion and each of said projecting pieces, and symmetrically forming the face and the back thereof as a whole.

  • Patent number: 4430777
Abstract: The invention provides an improved plastic socket component of the female snap of a snap fastener, which socket component is attached to one face of a flexible sheet such as the cloth of a garment by means of a rivent driven in from the other face of the flexible sheet and includes a cavity for coupling and uncoupling with a projection formed on a male snap. The cavity is surrounded by a thick peripheral wall having a plurality of relatively long arcuate embossments arranged at small intervals in the peripheral direction on an upper inner surface portion of the wall and a plurality of arcuate slits substantially equal in length to the embossments and arranged outwardly opposite thereto, the slits extending vertically through the peripheral wall. Adjacent pairs of the slits are interposed by thick wall portions having high rigidity.

  • Patent number: 4253226
Abstract: A base with a central aperture and a post having an axially outwardly open hollow-tipped stem are mounted on a supporting sheet piece to make up either a stud or a socket of a plastic snap fastener. The base is placed in proper position on one side of the supporting piece, while the post is aligned with it on the other side of the supporting piece and is forced to pierce therethrough and to extend through the aperture in the base. The mounting is completed by crashing the hollow walls of the stem under axial pressure while exerting radially inwardly contracting force upon the open hollow tip brim of the stem.
