Patent number: 10357347Abstract: An electric toothbrush includes a stem member on which a replaceable toothbrush is mounted. The stem member is made of synthetic resin and has a cavity for accommodating a DC motor and a vibration shaft connected to the DC motor. One end of the cavity is opened for inserting the DC motor and the vibration shaft together, and the other end thereof is closed. A free end of the vibration shaft is rotatably supported at the closed end of the cavity. The cavity has a cone-shaped wall so that the DC motor is firmly held in the cavity by a rigid contact between a shoulder portion of the DC motor and the cone-shaped wall.Type: GrantFiled: February 24, 2016Date of Patent: July 23, 2019Assignee: Colgate-Palmolive CompanyInventors: Yasunori Hata, Tadashi Tone, Hideaki Yoshida

Publication number: 20170119510Abstract: An electric toothbrush with a rechargeable battery includes a chassis having a rechargeable battery receiving section and a bobbin section, which are integrally formed to each other and are aligned along a common axis in said order. The rechargeable battery receiving section and the bobbin section are connected to each other by a pair of connecting arms extending generally parallel to each other. A rechargeable battery with tongue shaped terminals is accommodated in the rechargeable battery receiving section. In the chassis two openings are formed to have an easy access to the tongue shaped terminals. At a time of disposal of the electric toothbrush, a user can remove the rechargeable battery by cutting the arms to remove the bobbin section, and cutting the tongue shaped terminals to remove the body of the battery. In other embodiments, an inductive charger and method of forming the same is disclosed.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 22, 2015Publication date: May 4, 2017Inventors: Kentaro Tomori, Tadashi Tone, Hideaki Yoshida
