  • Patent number: 5589191
Abstract: A slow, release sodium valproate tablet with a coating layer, obtained by coating a core containing sodium valproate with a coating agent comprising ethyl cellulose having silicic acid anhydride dispersed therein. The slow-release tablets, while having a relatively small size, maintain a stable dissolution rate without being influenced by pH conditions to stably maintain the blood concentration of active agent over an extended period of time.

  • Patent number: 4692337
Abstract: A sustained release pharmaceutical tablet comprising theophylline and ethyl cellulose uniformly dispersed therein in an amount of 5 to 200 parts by weight of ethyl cellulose based on 100 parts by weight of the theophylline, the hardness of the tablet being 0.5 to 16.0 kg. This sustained release pharmaceutical tablet can be prepared by uniformly mixing 100 parts by weight of theophylline and 5 to 200 parts by weight of ethyl cellulose, and compression molding the resultant mixture by a direct compression method to form a tablet.
