  • Patent number: 6966014
Abstract: To generate a command for dealing with error message from accumulated information and transmit the command to information processing as transmission place, a process analyzes error message received by a communication process, searches file based on analysis of the error message, and searches file based on search, to acquire related message. A process analyzes the error message and the related message, and searches file in which contents of recovery operation generated in process have been accumulated, for information whose recover operation condition is in agreement with the analyzed information. A process displays the contents of searched information on display. A process generates command based on recovery operation corresponding to recovery operation method selected by a keyboard or a mouse, and on the error message and the related message by process. The communication process transmits the generated command to information processor unit.

  • Patent number: 6889243
Abstract: A job scheduling analysis method and system are disclosed in which a job schedule is analyzed by use of historical job execution data in a computer system in which a plurality of jobs are executed in parallel. Historical execution data of a plurality of jobs and the file names of files accessed by the jobs are collected. The maximum multiplicity of jobs capable of operating in parallel on the computer system is inputted. When the file name of a file accessed by one job and the file name of a file accessed by another other job coincide with each other, an execution start condition of the plurality of jobs are determined to execute the one job and the other job at the earliest instants within the maximum job multiplicity so that the sequence of execution of processings by the one job and the other job is maintained and the execution time of the one job and the execution time of said other job do not overlap each other.

  • Patent number: 5991793
Abstract: The "sunk" or "hungered" state of a process group generated at the time of resource allocation in a computer system is prevented. A corresponding relationship between processes and process groups is stored in a group managing section. Requests from processes and process groups for the allocation of a resource are stored in an exclusive control managing section together with the receiving sequence of resource allocation requests, the type of each resource allocation request and the condition of allocation of the resource. On the basis of information stored in the group managing section and the exclusive control managing section, the allocation of the resource in units of one process group and in units of one process with regard to processes belonging to the same process group is made by a process execution managing section successively in accordance with the receiving sequence.

  • Patent number: 5870604
Abstract: In a system including a plurality of processors for executing jobs, an execution processor of which the number of jobs waiting for execution is large is changed to a low-loaded processor so that distribution of the load among the processors is achieved. When jobs are inputted to a processor, a job scheduler stores job information in a job status table and sequentially executed the jobs. Processor monitor control units mutually communicate the load status of the processors by using the communication control unit, and store the status in the operation status table. A job execution processor change control unit changes the jobs waiting for execution in the job status table to the low-loaded processor in the operation status table. The job transfer control unit transfers the jobs to the job execution processor.

  • Patent number: 5848411
Abstract: A method of reading data of the same file by a plurality of jobs in a shared manner which, when one of the jobs issues a read request to read data sequentially stored in the file beginning at a first position thereof, acquires a minimum record number of a record of the file which has not yet been read. The contents of the record having the minimum record number are passed to the job which issued the read request. With this configuration, data of one file can be processed by a plurality of jobs in a shared fashion and the processing load is shared by the jobs.

  • Patent number: 5671354
Abstract: User authentication information for network of a user and a name of a server to be accessed are sent from a client terminal to a user management equipment realized by one of servers which constitute a network system. The user management equipment sends the network address of that server and user authentication information registered for that server back to the client terminal. Using these pieces of information, the client terminal logs in that server. Each of the servers used by the user notifies the user management equipment of the actual accounts for the user at preferable times. Using the notified information, the user management equipment manages the actual accounts of each user. Each user can know the total of actual accounts for the servers used by accessing only the user management equipment.

  • Patent number: 5557736
Abstract: In an electronic mail associated type computer system network equipped with a computer system for executing a job and a general-purpose electronic mail system, a user of an electronic mail can freely recognize a condition of an execution result of a job performed in the computer system and a job execution result. Also, these results are available from a desired output device for the user. When a mail processing unit employed in the computer system analyzes a mail statement about the job execution derived from the electronic mail system, and the job execution is completed, this mail processing unit sends to the electronic mail system, such a mail statement for the completion of the job execution containing information about fail/safe execution result. Upon receipt of this report, the user designates the output device into a response mail so as to output the job execution result from the designated output device.

  • Patent number: 5537543
Abstract: In an arrangement of a mail terminal 1, an electronic mail system 2, a job control terminal 4, and a computer system 3, a user makes a proposal of a file operation via a mail by way of the mail terminal 1. The electronic mail system 2 stores therein the proposal mail, exchanges this proposal mail with the job control terminal 4, and furthermore distributes a file operation result to the respective mail terminals. The job control terminal 4 receives a mail from the electronic mail system 2, and interprets the proposal mail, thereby executing a conversion from a mail ID into a host ID, a judgement of an access authorization with respect to the designated file, and a production of an instruction to the computer process system 3. Furthermore, an execution host computer is selected by monitoring operation conditions of the host computers.

  • Patent number: 5408334
Abstract: A job control terminal creates a unit configuration table indicating the configuration of units connected to each of a plurality of processors in a multi-processor system. The job control terminal also creates an operating state table indicating an operating state of each processor including a CPU using ratio, I/O using ratio, memory using ratio, response time, and so on. When the job control terminal receives electronic mail for requesting job execution from a user through an electronic mail terminal, the job control terminal selects a processor assigned to execute the requested job based on the unit configuration table and the operating state table. When it is determined from the states of the processors that the requested job cannot be executed, information indicating that the job is unacceptable is transmitted from the job control terminal to the electronic mail terminal.
