  • Patent number: 6013208
Abstract: A carbonaceous material for an electrical double layer capacitor is produced by performing a halogenation treatment step wherein a halogenated dry-distilled charcoal is obtained by bringing a dry-distilled charcoal into contact with a halogen gas; a molding treatment step of adding a binding agent to the halogenated dry-distilled charcoal to form a molded article; and a dehalogenation treatment step wherein a part or all of the halogen in the molded article is eliminated. The carbonaceous material for an electrical double layer capacitor obtained by this method is impregnated with sulfuric acid to form a carbon electrode for an electrical double layer capacitor. This electrode is used to form an electrical double layer capacitor.

  • Patent number: 4938211
Abstract: A breathing apparatus includes: a vessel member having a mouth piece and internal influx chamber; a tubular communication member having opposite ends connected respectively to the intake and outgo ports of the vessel member in such a manner that the vessel member and the communication member define a circular passage for a respirable gas; an oxygen-supplying mechanism for supplying the circular passage with the respirable gas; a pair of check valves, disposed respectively at the intake and outgo ports of the vessel member, for limiting the flow of the respirable gas in the circular passage to a single direction so that, when the person breathes into the influx chamber, the respirable gas in the influx chamber is introduced into the communication member through the outgo port and, when the person inhales through the mouth piece, the respirable gas in the communication member is recycled into the influx chamber through the intake port; and an outlet port for discharging excess respirable gas out of the circular

  • Patent number: 4709578
Abstract: Method and apparatus for determining a vacuum degree of a flexible vacuum package. The vacuum package is sealingly placed within a vacuum chamber and then the vacuum chamber is evacuated to a vacuum degree below the vacuum degree of the vacuum package placed within the vacuum chamber. A start of inflation of the package is detected during the evacuation step and pressure within the vacuum chamber is measured when the start of the inflation of the package is detected.

  • Patent number: 4668551
Abstract: An evacuated insulation unit and a method of manufacturing the same. A zeolite adsorbent is degassed in a vacuum state. The degassed zeolite adsorbent is sealingly packed in a gas impermeable bag in an atmosphere of an adsorption-proof gas. Then, the gas impermeable bag is provided with a communication hole. After the communication hole is provided, the gas impermeable bag is placed into a plastic bag so as to communicate to the plastic bag through the communication hole. A heat insulating material and activated carbon are also placed into the plastic bag. The plastic bag which contains the gas impermeable bag, the heat insulating material and the activated carbon is evacuated immediately after the provision of the communication hole to the gas impermeable bag so that air is prevented from entering the gas impermeable bag. The plastic bag is sealed during evacuation thereof to thereby produce the evacuated insulation unit.
