    Abstract: An apparatus for measuring a depth of a 3D image includes a display panel unit which produces a 3D image by displaying a left-eye and a right-eye image, a depth measurement unit which measures projecting distances or recessed distances of the 3D image and a real object, a parallax measurement unit which measures a distance between pupils of an experimenter based on the projecting distances or recessed distances of the 3D image and the real objects, and a depth value calculation unit which calculates an average value of the projecting distances or recessed distances of the real object with respect to a plurality of experimenters measured when a change in distance between pupils is the same as a change in distance between pupils measured by adjusting the projecting distance or recessed distance of the 3D image, and determines the calculated average value as a depth value of the 3D image.

    Abstract: Disclosed are a method of configuring a keypad of a terminal, a terminal configured thereby, a system including such a terminal, and a reconfigurable keypad. A keypad server includes keypad configuration files according to various applications implemented in a terminal, and provides the keypad configuration file to the terminal. The terminal receives the keypad configuration file from the keypad server through a wired or wireless network, and includes a keypad area on which a keypad configuration according to the keypad configuration file is displayed. In this way, various types of keypads can be implemented.

    Abstract: A system and method for determining a handoff target base station in a mobile communication system according to a direction of travel of a mobile station are provided. The mobile station measures strengths of pilot signals transmitted from base stations in proximity thereto and transmits information about the measured strengths to a base station controller (BSC). The BSC selects one of the base stations as the handoff target base station depending on the measured strength information and relative location of the mobile station with respect to each of the base stations. In an alternate embodiment, the mobile station selects the handoff target base station based on weights assigned to each base station according to a predicted direction of travel for the mobile station. The mobile station then selects one of the base stations as the handoff target base station depending upon the measured strengths and weights.
